Map showing location of the M103 and Credit Island Park
Hidden in among the trees on Credit Island. A item from the 1950's. A US Army M103 Heavy Tank, Built and fielded to counter the Soviet tank threat in Europe it was pulled from deployment in 1959.

This unit pictured here was given to the then Davenport Park Commission in the 1960s. Placed on Credit Island Park it was orginally near the children playground and was target of anti-war protestors with anti-viet nam war slogans painted on it's sides. Having to endure several floods from the nearby Mississippi River. It is slowly rusting and may have been painted with a commercial dark green paint by park employees. The childrens playground is now moved away leaving the tank alone in the trees.

What left of the tank serial number. Anyone know the full number?
The rubber on the treads seems to be complete except for some cuts on some pads.
There are no headlights or tailights. Unknown if these were removed before being place in the current location.
Inspection plate missing. Several removable doors are gone from the tank.
We're counting you as the Visitor here.
