Before we were a colony
of Alpha Chi Rho, we were an interest group. We wanted to be part of a fraternity
that had some of the same ideals as us. Most importantly, it had to be
a non-hazing fraternity. We thought the idea of putting a person
through hell for a few weeks, just to call them brother after a ritual was
absurd. The other fraternities on campus was rushing us, until two of
us decided to bring a new fraternity on campus. On May 31st, 1995 we
went from being a fraternity intrest group to being the Queens College Colony
of Alpha Chi Rho. As of December of 1998, we have grown to the point of
hoping to become a chapter. There are 36 brothers (15 that are active) now
and growing faster every day. Soon we will be able to call ourselves a
