Stir-Fried
Pepper Beef with Mushrooms
| 1 lb flank steak or tender
beef, thinly sliced 2 Tbls soy sauce 1/4 tsp black pepper 2 Tbls cooking oil, divided 1 tsp minced garlic 1 tsp minced ginger |
1/4 tsp crushed
red pepper 1/2 onion, thinly sliced 1/4 lb fresh button mushrooms, thinly sliced pinch of sugar 1 tsp sesame oil |
Mix together beef, soy and black pepper. Set aside 30 minutes to marinate. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a wok over medium-high heat until hot. Add beef, garlic, ginger and red pepper; stir-fry 2 minutes or until beef is barely pink. Remove beef. Add remaining 1 tablespoon oil, onion and muishrooms; stir 1 minute. Return beef; add sugar and sesame oil. stirring to mix well.
