Buttercream Icing
½
c. high-ratio shortening
4 c. powdered sugar
1 Tbsp. meringue powder
1 tsp. vanilla
¼ tsp. almond extract
4-5 Tbsp. Water
pinch of salt, optional
Combine ingredients at low speed, then beat until creamy.
For chocolate buttercream, add ¾ c. cocoa powder or 3 oz. Unsweetened chocolate, melted.
