Thank you for visiting QBMan's Pro-Foreskin Site. If you are looking
for information about Circumcision, the Foreskin and Foreskin Restoration, it is hoped that you will find this
site helpful. You must visit here with an open mind. You will find that I do not condone the damaging practice
of circumcision. There are links here to sites which do support circumcision. I expect, that as a mature adult,
you are capable of reading both sides and coming to a mature, logical and sensible decision as to your own position.
One of the main features of this site is my personal journal of Foreskin Restoration. I hope it will be an inspiration
to others who are either restoring their foreskins or considering it. Your comments are most welcome. Use the Email
button to the left or the email link on any page.
NEWS:
Mar. 6, 1999 - SITE IMPROVMENTS. I have made some minor improvements to the site, including
frames that fit in 800x600 resolution. My good tuggin' buddy Chymmylt gave me some pointers here and it should
enhance the visual performance of the site for those using this video resolution. At FULL SCREEN, the navigation
frame at the top of the page should fit without wrapping. If you are still using standard VGA resolution of 640x480,
you deserve whatever you get! Sorry folks, but it doesn't take much to keep up. Most monitors and graphics cards
today support the minimum Super VGA resolution of 800x600. So check your display settings and see if you can use
this resolution. You'll be surprised at the results. I have also fixed the Journal frameset so that it will open
as a child of the main frameset and when you click the HOME icon at the bottom of its navigation frame, you will
be returned to the parent window, the main page of the site. Enjoy. If you have any comments or find anything broken,
drop a line. :)
Mar. 1, 1999 - SMALL VICTORY: AAP NO LONGER RECOMMENDING ROUTINE INFANT CIRCUMCISION. The American Academy of Pediatrics released its revised position statement on RIC today.
While they have finally accepted that prevention of disease and other "potential health benefits" are
not "compelling enough" for them to recommend the procedure, they have fallen short, again, by failing
to acknowledge the infant child's patient rights to genital integrity when no disease or defect is present to justify
the amputation of the prepuce. The AAP still feels that parents have a right to choose circumcision for their baby
boys, even though the child's life or health is not in immediate danger.
By all standards of medical ethics this not the case, since surgery of any kind is a corrective
procedure, not preventive. While the new statement is more aligned with others
around the world, including that of the Canadian Paediatric Society, I am still of the opinion that these position
statements need not exist except to the extent that they would sanction circumcision only
when there are specific deformities
or disease present which duly
indicate need for the foreskin's removal. I see this as a very small step forward for the AAP, but the road is
still a long one.
Feb. 15, 1999 - A FRESH NEW LOOK
FOR THE SITE. I felt it was
time for a change. First of all, maintaining the site was becoming a nightmare. So many pages to update navigation
on, especially with the journal. Each month I would have to add the new links to every page for the newly added
month. And if I wanted to add to the main navigation buttons, that had to be done on every page too. So, I have
switched to FRAMES. This way, I only have to update one page with new buttons and links each month. I have not
included non-frame support at this point, but I figure, it's 1999 folks, if you haven't updated to a current browser
by now, there is something very wrong at YOUR end. This is not to say I won't offer a non-frame version but I feel
I should encourage everyone to move ahead. Remember, "Time waits for no man..." In association with Amazon.com
I have added a bookstore page featuring selected titles about Circumcision and Restoration. You can buy online.
And, yes, I get a little something for each book purchased, but please, share your business with other intactivist
associates like NOHARMM and others in the program. If each person who wishes to buy books spreads his business
out like this, it will, however little, help us maintain our sites as useful resources for intactivist and restoration.
This is a great program amazon.com has introduced and you are encouraged to take advantage of this service.
Feb. 15, 1999 - A NEW LOGO. I felt it was time for a concise new logo for QBMan's
Pro-Foreskin Site. I have had a lot of feedback about the choice of that photo in the old one, both positive and
negative, but mostly positive. While there was some significance to my choice of the photo logo, I believe it has
served its purpose for well over a year and deserves to be retired. I designed the new logo myself and it, too,
has some significant symbolism. First, it represents both the intact and restored penis, but I guess that's obvious.
While it is very stylized, I feel that representation is very clear. Second, the shape of the "foreskin"
also represents up-stretched "arms" as over a person's head, rejoicing in victory. The victory could
be successful restoration, victories in eliminating the scourge of circumcision and other intactivist goals. This
posture is also indicative of strength and solidarity in commitment to oneself and to others. And finally, the
"arms" could also be perceived as reaching out in support of restoring men and support for global efforts
to rid the world of this mutilation and violation of human rights; support for universal Genital Integrity. As
the foreskin hugs and protects the glans of the penis, this symbol acknowledges the need to reach out to those
who suffer the loss of circumcision and embrace them with comfort and understanding and help to overcome their
feelings of loss and violation. I hope that new and regular users of this site find these symbols in the new logo
and find it a comforting sign, welcoming restoravists and intactivists alike, as well as those who seek information,
to my home page.
