This indenture of bargain & sale made & entered into this 27th day of March 1854 between Winey Robertson of one part and David Spivey of the other part all of Clay County Kentucky Witnesseth that the said Winey Robertson hath for and in consideration of the sum of four hundred dollars to her in hand paid the receipt whereof is here by acknowledged hath granted bargained and sold & do by these presents sell & convey unto the said David Spivy a certain tract or parcel of land lying & being in the County of Clay on the waters of Sexton's Creek containing one hundred acres & bounded as follows, to wit: Beginning at a poplar white oak and hickory on Monroe's north line thence with the same east 110 poles to a white oak thence south 60 poles to the creek thence 50 east 20 poles to a white oak & dogwood on the bank of a small branch thence south 80 poles to a chestnut oak and maple thence west 86 poles to C Robertson's line thence N 24 to a white oak Robertsons corner thence with Robertsons line N 38 W 48 poles to Robertsons beginning thence north 118 poles to the beginning.
Also one other tract beginning at a black oak and pine tree in the west side line of Monroe's 20000 acre survey thence S 254 poles to the top of the ridge thence N 50 E 54 poles thence N 7 E 42 poles thence N 87 E 25 poles to a black oak thence S 65 E 26 poles thence N 26 E 34 poles S 51 E 28 poles thence S 35 E 38 poles thence N 55 E 38 thence S 70 E 22 poles to a chestnut oak thence same course continued in all 46 poles thence S 82 E 38 poles thence N 75 E 36 poles thence S 28 E 38 poles N 75 E 36 poles thence S 28 E 14 poles to a chestnut oak thence N 67 E 74 poles to a red oak in the top of the ridge thence N 50 E 70 poles to a forked chestnut thence N 54 W 80 poles to a chestnut thence N 10 E 58 poles to a chestnut oak thence N 67 W 22 poles thence N 45 W 48 poles to a chestnut oak thence N 20 E 56 poles thence N 65 E 50 to a black oak thence N 20 W 8 poles to a white oak and corner to Robertson 100 acres aforesaid thence with the same west 120 poles thence S 76 poles to a white oak thence west 104 poles to a white oak thence S 47 W 22 poles to a white oak thence S 59 W 38 poles to a white (oak) thence west to the beginning containing two hundred acres be the same more or less To have and to hold unto the said David Spivy his heirs and assigns free from the claim of my self and all persons whatsoever I will warrant and forever defend the title to the same. In witness whereof I have here unto set my hand and seal the day above written.

I, William Woodcock Clerk of the County Court aforesaid do certify that this deed from Winey Robertson to David Spivy was this day produced to me in my office & acknowledged by said Winey Robertson to be her act and deed whereupon the same together with the foregoing certificate have been duly admitted to record.
