This indenture
of bargain & sale made & entered into this 27th day of
February 1854 by & between Winey Robertson of the first part
& Barton Potter of the other part all of the County of Clay
& State of Kentucky witnesseth that the said Winey Robertson
hath for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred &
fifty dollars to me in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby
acknowledged, bargained and sold unto the said Barton Potter a
certain tract or parcel of land lying or being in the County of
Clay on the waters of Goose Creek containing 200 acres and bounded
as follows, to wit: Beginning at three spruce pines at a cliff
of rocks on the east side of a branch thence N 58 E 18 poles to
a post oak & chestnut thence N 12 E 14 poles to 4 chestnut
oaks thence N 25 E 26 poles to a black oak thence S 47 E 32 poles
to two hickories thence N 70 E 28 poles to a chestnut thence N

poles to 3 chestnut oaks growing from the same stump thence N

to me by (my) late husband, William Robertson dec'd To have and
to hold unto the said Barton Potter his heirs and assigns forever
free from the claims of myself my heirs and all persons whatever.
I will warrant and forever defend the title to the same In witness
whereof I have here unto set my hand the day and date above written.

of the County Court aforesaid do certify that this deed from Winey
Robertson to Barton Potter was this day produced to me in my office
and acknowledged by the said Winey Robertson to be her act and
deed Whereupon the same together with the foregoing certicate
have been duly admitted to record in my office. Given under my
