This Indenture made this 12th day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty between George Robertson of Pulaski County and State of Kentucky of the one part and William Herd of the County of Clay and State aforesaid on the other part Witnesseth that the aforesaid George Robertson for the consideration of one dollar to him in hand paid hath granted, bargained, and sold by way of Quit Claim unto the said William Herd his heirs and assigns forever all the right title and estate of him the aforesaid George Robertson a certain parcel of land containing one hundred acres whereon the said William Herd now lives Situate in the said County of Clay on both sides of Red Bird fork being part of a tract of two thousand acres granted to James French by Patent bearing date the 3rd day of June 1806 and the parcel hereby conveyed is bounded as follows (to wit) Beginning in the Southerdly line of the original survey where the said line crosses Red Bird fork, Thence west with original line fifty poles to a stake, Thence North one hundred and sixty poles to a stake, Thence East one hundred poles to a stake, Thence South one hundred and sixty poles to a stake, in the line of the original survey, Thence West with original line fifty poles to the Red Bird fork the place of beginning to include the quantity. To have and to hold the parcel of land aforesaid with its appurtenances unto the said William Herd and his heirs and assigns forever -- and the aforesaid George Robertson doth by these presents warrant and will forever defend the parcel of land aforesaid with its appurtenances by way of Quit claim unto the said William Herd his heirs and assigns forever against himself, the aforesaid George Robertson, and his heirs but from nor against no other person claim whatsoever; and the said William Herd hereby declares himself fully satisfied and content with the title of the aforesaid George Robertson at all chances and by way of Quit Claim as aforesaid and releases the said George Robertson and his heirs from all demands should the parcel of land aforesaid be lost or taken away by any other person or claim whatsoever. In Testimony whereof the said George Robertson has hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal the day and year first above written.

I hereby certify that the within Indenture from George Robertson to William Herd was duly acknowledged by the said George Robertson on the 12th day of August 1820 to be his act and deed hand and seal for the purposes therein specified -- which is recorded in my office the same day and date. In Testimony whereof I have subscribed my name this 18th day of August 1820.
