This indenture
made this 26th day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand
eight hundred and fifteen between James French and Keziah his
wife of the County of Montgomery and the State of Kentucky of
the one part and George Robertson of the County of Clay and State
aforesaid of the other part witnesseth that the aforesaid James
French and Keziah his wife for the consideration of one dollar
to them paid hath granted, bargained, and sold by way of Quit
Claims and by these presents doth grant bargain and sell by way
of Quit Claim unto the George Robertson his heirs and assigns
forever all the right title and estate of them the aforesaid James
French and Keziah his wife unto a certain parcel of land containing
one hundred acres whereon the said George Robertson now lives
situate in the said County of Clay on both sides of Red Bird fork
being part of a tract of two thousand acres granted to the aforesaid
James French by patent bearing date the 3rd day of June 1806 and
the parcel hereby conveyed is bounded as follows (to wit) Beginning
in the Southardly line of the original Survey where the said line
crosses Red Bird fork Thence west with original line fifty poles
to a stake Thence North one hundred and sixty poles to a stake
Thence East one hundred poles to a stake Thence South one hundred
and sixty to a stake in the line of the original survey Thence
West with the original line fifty poles to the Red Bird fork the
place of beginning to include the quantity. To have and to hold
the parcel of land aforesaid with its appurtenances unto the said
George Robertson and his heirs and assigns forever. And the aforeaid
James French and Keziah his wife doth by these presents warrant
and will forever defend the parcel of land aforesaid with its
appurtenances by way of Quit Claim unto the said George Robertson
his heirs and assigns forever against themselves the aforesaid
James French and Keziah his wife and their heirs but from nor
against no other person nor claim whatsoever and the said George
Robertson declares himself fully satisfied and content with the
title of the aforesaid James French at all chances and by way
of Quit claim as aforesaid and release the same James French and
Keziah his wife and their heirs from all demand should the parcel
of land aforesaid be lost or taken away by any other person or
claim whatsoever. In Testimony whereof the aforesaid James French
& Keziah his wife have hereunto set their hands affixed their
seals the day and year first above written.

I certify that
this Indenture from French to Robertson was verified by the oaths
of John Gibson, Thomas Marcum and Jonathan Wilson three of the
subscribing witnesses to be the act and deed the hand and seal
of the said James French and Keziah his wife to George Robertson
which is recorded etc.
[Note: The subscribing witnesses also received land
from James and Keziah French, and George Robertson was one of their
