Know all men
by these presents that I Elias Robertson of the County of Clay
and State of Ky for and in consideration of the sum of $27.25
to me in hand paid by Barton Potter I have this day bargained
and sold by way of mortgage to the said B Potter the following
property to wit: 3 head of horses, 12 head of Hogs, 13 head of
Cattle including one red cow 7 years old and one 4 years one frosty
colored cow and calf, 2 heifers and calves, 2 heifers one year
old, two heifers three years old, and one yearling (?) ---- (?)
to have and to hold to him the said B Potter and his heirs forever
nevertheless if the said Elias Robertson shall on or before the
25th day of Dec next pay the said B Potter the sum of $27.25 which
account said Potter holds said Robertsons note for payable the
25th day of December next with all interest and cost that may
accrue there on the above mortgage to be void otherwise to remain
in full force and virtue.

Williams Clerk of the County Court for the County aforesaid certify
that the foregoing is a true copy of a mortgage from Elias Robertson
to B Potter which mortgage was this day produced to me in my office
acknowledged by the said E Robertson to be his act and deed and
ordered the same to be recorded which is this day same Given under
my hand this 24th day of April 1841.
