This indenture made and entered into this 24th day of Sept 1852 between David Robertson of the one part and William B Allen and Silas C Robertson of the other part all of the County of Clay & State of Kentucky witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of $100 to me in hand paid by the said W B Allen and for the further consideration of the love and affection I have for my son Silas C Robertson I have this day granted bargained and sold unto the said William B Allen & Silas C Robertson a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the County of Clay on the waters of Goose Creek and bounded as follows, to wit: Beginning at 2 white oaks, black oak and pine on the top of Pinacle in a line that runs from the mill to the Butter Fish Trap thence S 38 E 12 poles to a black oak N 84 E 18 poles to a chestnut oak & pine S 60 E 10 poles to a white oak and hickory S 6 E 12 to a spotted oak & white oak S 32 E 17 poles to a black oak & pine S 72 E 34 poles to a hickory on a line of a 125 acre survey made for Sally Allen thence with the same N 8 poles to a black gum corner of the same N 36 E 27 poles to two hickorys on the top of the point thence N 27 W 16 poles to hickory & beech N 51 W 12 to a beech and sourwood N 31 W 32 to a beech on the south west corner of Charles Cole's lot N 29 E 40 poles to a beech on the bank of Laurel Creek same course continued 2 poles further to the center of the creek thence down said Creek S 16 E 22 poles N 76 E 24 poles to a walnut pawpaw and sycamore at the mouth of the Maupin Branch thence up said branch N 30 E 26 poles to a beech N 28 poles to a sugar tree N 11 W 84 poles to a black oak & sugar tree upon the top of the hill at the head of the Maupin Branch N 70 W 6 poles to a hickory in the aforesaid mill & Butter fish trap line thence S 30 W 135 to the mill same course continued 99 poles to the beginning. To have and to hold unto the said W B Allen & Silas C Robertson their heirs & assigns forever free from the claim of myself and my heirs with this reserve I am to have the use of the grist mill and sugar orchard as long as I live and at my death the right thereof to fully rest in the said W B Allen & Silas Robertson. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand the date above written.

I William Woodcock Clerk of the County Court aforesaid certify that the deed from David Robertson to W B Allen & Silas C Robertson was this day produced to me in my office and acknowledged by the said grantors according the law to be their act and deed Whereupon the same together with the foregoing certificate have been duly admitted to record in my office. Given under my hand this 24th September 1852.
