Come paddle the waters of King's Bay on St. Valentine's Day and fall in love with a manatee. Put-in is 10 AM, 14 2007 at Hunter Springs City Park in Crystal River, FL. From there it is a short paddle to 3 Sisters Springs where you may swim with manatees. Bigtime BRRR-brrr, wet suit advised. Then stop for lunch at one of the local restaurants, or bring your own. After eating, back on the water to Banana Island where when the nights are chilly large numbers of manatees congregate. While the focus of this trip is manatees, occasionally other species are seen like otter or gator and, of course, the birds of Pelican Island. |

PLEASE NOTE: I kayak King's Bay frequently but have little experience on it in a canoe. I advise against going out in a canoe when strong winds are blowing.
