إذ يستلزم هذا على الأرجح قدرا هائلا من المعارف المتخصصة التي لا يتسنى اكتسابها إلا بعد تلمذة صناعية طويلة الأمد  

these are likely to require a large amount of specialist knowledge which can only be acquired by a long apprenticeship  

ونحن نعرف أن الابتكار الخيالي عند تصميم محرك السيارة أو هيكل كوبري ضخم أو ابتكار خصائص مادة بلاستيكية جديدة، إنما هو عمل له خصوصياته الجمالية التي يتبدى فيها الجمع بين الإبداع وأناقة الأداء الوظيفي

ويؤكد هذا واقع وجود مجموعات كبيرة من الأيدي العاملة من العبيد، مما جعل المخططات التي تستهدف توفيرها كأيد عاملة أمرا ثانويا وزائدا عن الحاجة  

This stresses the fact that the existence of a large pool of slave labor made labor saving devices redundant
