Gentle, docile, and very beautiful snakes. There is one negative side to owning 1 of these beautiful snakes, that is their size. The Burmese Python can reach a length of over 20 feet and weigh as much as 200 pounds. It is 1 of the longest snakes in the world today. Before taking on a snake of this size, you should have plenty of experience handling large snakes.

Appearance : The Burmese Python comes in a few different colors. Tan with dark edged olive brown dorsal and lateral blotches. A dark spearhead is on the head of the Burmese. This is the standard Burmese Python apearance. There is also green and albino coloring of the Burmese.

Sizes : Adult Burmese Pythons commonly reach a length of 14 feet. This is a very heavy snake that has the potential to reach a length of up to 27 feet and weigh as much as 200 pounds.

Breeding : Burmese Pythons can lay up to 80 eggs. Snakes kept in captivity may not be able to reproduce do to, no time in hibernation when the males sperm is produced.

Feeding : Burmese Pythons will eat mammals, birds, and rodents. The size of the meal is determined by the size of your snake. Try and keep the meal about the size of the biggest portion of the snakes body, may be a little bigger.
