I have heard rumors that the Democrats would like to make the economy a large issue for the up coming 2004 elections. I agree with them. After analyzing their effect on the DOW, during the past 20 years, it appears that whenever the Democrats gain more power in Washington (in either the legislative or executive branch of the government), the stock market under performs from the previous time frame. Don't believe me? Just look at the chart below. The DOW does not lie. So if you are concerned about your investments, your job or your 401K plan, I suggest you do the Democrats a favor and make the economy an issue in November. Send them home so they don't screw us over yet again! Corporations which succeed in elevating valuations due to their economic performance usually hire employees which increases economic activity across other sectors. This is economics 101, but Democratic policies usually are in dark contrast to these capitalist concepts. High taxation and government over regulation do not bring prosperity. Instead they bring more poverty, stagnation, with Washington in control and thus I must repeat. The DOW does not lie. |
