| This was my first game for the XBOX and really one of the big reasons that I bought the system. I had heard so many good things about it and it had received so many good reviews that I had to try it at leat once. I didn't know if I would enjoy it as much as others, because I don't normally play First-Person Shooters. I put it in the system and I was quite impressed with the striking realism of the graphics. The game was very impressive to say the least. The game takes place in a futuristc time in a battle between Humans and an alliance of alien forces called The Covenant. The Covenant view humans as a sort of devil and a threat to their religion that must be exterminated. You play as the Master Chief, the best marine your ship has to offer, and you must fight through the forces of The Covenant to unlock the mysteries behing the planet Halo. As you venture through Halo an array of vehicles are at your disposal to destroy your enemy. ATV's with machine gun turrets, Tanks, as well as Alien vehicles will aid you. This game really did live up to it's immense praise and I highly recommend it. The graphics on the game were excellent, as was the soundtrack. I really liked how they did the soundtrack and the ethnic twist they added to it. The enemies were also nicely crafted in voice, weapons, and overall appearance. The humans and vehicles were all great as well. I also loved the relative realism of the game (i.e. carry only two weapons at once) The multiplayer is what really stood out for me, though. Halo can support up to around 32 or so people on one game. You can also link up four XBOXs, each in different rooms, and have teams battles where each system has their own team. It's just great fun to put a bullet through your friend's head, then run into the next room and tell them how much they suck or to hop into a Warthog with your bud in the back manning the machine gun and floor it at the enemy as they run away firing. In short, play the game, then hang out with your friends one day and play it. Trust me, I've found that even those who hate XBOX still love a good Team Deathmatch in Halo. |
