| Deus Ex: Invisible War |
| Normally I'm not a guy to play First-Person Shooters, but after my Halo Experience I decided to give them a try. Deus Ex seemed pretty good. My friend Bronson told me about it. Invisible war is the second installation in a post-depression type of stroyline based in futuristic times. It takes 20 years after a worldwide depression. It tells about how the main girl/guy (played by you) shape the future of the world by joining one of the religions, corporations, or whatever you want to team with. The game features many different types of weapons and upgrades to your firearms, as well as your body. I really liked the interactiveness of the world. You can pick up and throw almost anything, you can interact with the people, steal from ATMs, buy sodas from vending machines, a lot of things I wasen't expecting from the game. The weapons were fun to mess with also. With different upgrades available (silencer, frag rounds, increased damage) and cool secondary firing, killing people dosen't lose intrest as quickly. You don't even have to kill people if you would rather take the stealthy route. Your character was trained in the arts of sneaking and espionage, so sneaking through air vents, along the rafters, or what have you, should be no problem. The biomods are also helpful. Each part of your body can be modified with a different type of biomod. You can only use one for each, but you can upgrade that one to a third level. Their are modifications such as Regeneration, Cloaking, Improved Strength, and Bot Domination that really help out in the game. Since you are not restricted to follow a pre-determined story track, you are free to develope your own. You really pick how the world is shaped and how your alliances and rivals are developed. Though, as with most games, some things could be revised. Personally I don't like the type of ammo in this game. All bullets work for every gun, but each gun uses different amounts. I ran out after a while, so I was stuck with melee attacks until I could find more. There is no shop to buy ammo, so that sucked. Also, some of the mission are stupid, and they are a bit redundant and don't pay enough. The gameplay and storyline were a little slow at the beginning of the game, but after a while they picked up and I enjoyed myself. Overall I had few complaints with the game. It was very fun, interactive, and, with many multiple endings, the replay value is pretty nice. Though I feel the game would be better played for PC, it is still a good one for your XBOX collection. |
