With a little messing around these rockets are a lot of fun and so easy!!
Whoever first thought these up is truly a genious!
1. Chinese Visco or Flying Fish Fuse (American Visco will not work)
2. masking tape (duck tape also works but not household tape)
3. paper
4. thin string (fishing line works ok)
5. wood glue
6. a guide stick (I usually just use Consumer Rocket sticks which balance akmost perfectly)
7. Hot Glue
Plus various common tools (scissors, ruler, brain.....)
Cut 6 pieces of fuse 1" long and 1 piece 21/2 long. Get a piece of tape 3" long and 1" wide. This is wher 1" wide masking tape is handy! 1/4" from one edge place the long fuse perpindicular on the tape and then up against it place the others.
Roll the tape up over the fuse then roll it up very tightly. This is the very finicky part.... If it's not tightly rolled then air pockets will cause it to explode or fly wrong! It will probably take a little practice especially if you have big hands like me..... If you rolled it right it should look like a little bundle of Dynamite with the main fuse right dead center of the bundle like in the photo!
Cut a piece of paper 13/4" wide and about 6" long. Put some wood glue on this strip and spread it out thinly over the entire thing. Set the little bundle of fuse on the sheet so that ther is 1/4" space on one side and 1/2" space on the other! Roll this up, try to avoid the paper spiraling, all the way and put a little piece of tape on ther to told the paper togethor till the glue completely dries!
To create a Nozzle for this little rocket is very simple! Just take your thin string or Fishing line and tie it around the main fuse, squeeze it tight till the 1/2" paper there collapses around the big fuse. Now take a little stick and spread out the cone you just created. Kinda hard to explain so look at the picture.
Get your Guide Stick and attach it to the rocket! Make sure you balance the rocket by holding the rocket on 1 finger just below the nozzle. If it balances your good, if it leans to the engine you need a longer/heavier stick and if it leans toward the stick trim it.
