Max Payne by: Ross & Colby
Ross's Opinion
Max Payne is a brilliant game,  mostly due to its intricate, noir storyline and stunning special effects.  Considering that the game was released in 2001, and still rivals or beats games on today's market, Max Payne is an instant classic among FPS gamers.  Set in current day New York, the plot follows undercover cop Max Payne as his wife and baby are brutally murdered one day before he returns home.  As assumed, Payne is really pissed about it.  He takes an oath or something to find and kill whomever did this.  From there on, the game turns into an urban crime thriller and a tale of bloodthirsty vengeance.  Payne himself is an absolute beast.  He doesn't care about his health or reputations as he charges into an enemy hideout, spraying bullets into his foe.
The game was originally for PC, but soon came to XBOX in late '01.  Now it's on the Platinum Hits list for the BOX, meaning you can snag a copy for only $19.99!  Also, the weapons arsenal, characters, and settings are awesome.  Three weapons can get you through the game: the Uzi, the pump-action shotgun, and an explosive weapon like a grenade.  Another great arm is the Molotov cocktail (a bottle filled with gasoline and Styrofoam and a simple fuse, real easy to make), just make sure you're not to close to it when you use it.  The sniper rifle is very useful as well, but most of the Payne antagonists take a few clips to down.  The sniper rifle is awesome because it puts the bullet in cinematic view and shows the impact to the villain's head.  The bullet time is really what has made this game famous.  With the simple click of a control, you can make time go by like ten times slower and jump out of a corner, riddle your enemies full of bullets, and make a nice ending roll behind a barrel or crate on the opposite side.  This was unbelievable stuff back when it first came out, especially for PC.
Unfortunately I can only talk about the single player, since there is no multi-player on it for XBOX.  The ending to this game is so sweet and is just about worth buying the game for (that and the bullet time).  The character's heads in Max Payne are slightly off, however, becoming a deduction of points.  Yet, news of Max Payne 2 have been released, as well as some tight screenshots.  With a gaming legacy like Max Payne has, it'd be hard to rate it down....so I'm not gonna.  I give Max Payne for the XBOX a:

8.8/10.

(addition to Ross's)
Max Payne, where to begin.  Since Ross told us a bit about the good parts of the game i think that I should go over the, less than excellent parts of the game.  The bullet time is an excelent feature and it never gets old.  The only part of this game that i didn't like is the fact that you played in Max's dreams.  In one of his dreams, well more a nightmare, you find yourself at the begging of an endless and confusing maze.  after finding you way through that then you come to a huge opening where you must walk across a line of blood. And all the while in the back ground you hear screams of a woman and little child.
Also one of your main enemies is some satanistic raving mad man.  Although he is very fun to murder his little introduction speech may be a little unnerving to some of strong faith, such as myself.
All in all this is a very good and fun game. That i suggest you buy.  (the platinum hits only cost 19.99) I give Max Payne for Xbox a:

8.3/10.

Count the guns, One, Two, whoah
Sorry about the grill dad.  Ill buy you another one when I kill the satanic antagonist.
