Odion
Odion came to the Ishtars as a baby. Ms. Ishtar saw him lying abandoned in the desert and brought him in to call him her own. She and Mr. Ishtar tried for so long to have a son, but due to complications could not conceive. Ms. Ishtar wanted her husband to thin of Odion as his own- something that he just could not let himself do. When Odion reached the age of eleven, he asked if he could undergo the ritual meant for the firstborn Ishtar son. Mr. Ishtar denied his request angrily, stating with severe anger that he would never be considered his son. When the Ishtars were finally blessed with having children, they had two: a girl they named Ishizu, and a baby boy they named Marik. Since the children's birth, Odion was referred to as a slave by Mr. Ishtar- and for nearly 10 years Odion hated Marik. One day while he was entertaining him, Marik ran off ahead and was bitten by a venemous snake. Mr. Ishtar was extremely upset and blamed Odion for the snake bite. Full of jelousy anger of not being called his son, Odion went to Marik's bed chamber with a knife clutched in his hand, intending to kill him- but Marik, even through his sweaty fever and staggered breath, called him something that made the knife fall from his hand and clatter to the stone floor: brother. From then on, Odion swore to protect his Master Marik.
