Arkana the Magician
Arkana used to be a great magician. He had it all- money, looks, and a beautiful girlfriend: Catherine. However, he lost it all on a simple trick. He'd done it a million times before: he was going to be lifted up in a heavily chained crate and escape before a timed bomb, attatched to the bottom, detinated. As he was being lifted into the air, however, the bomb malfunctioned, and teh crate blew up in a firey swoosh. Although he had been horribly burned, his self-image was destroyed. He became irritatedand annoyed that Catherine, regardless of how he looked or of what he said, still stood by him. He, however, threw he out after his annoyance peaked. He regretted ever doing that. Lonely and sad that he had thrown out the only thing he ever really cared for, he met a man called Marik, who promised him that he would bring her ack if he defeated a by called Yugi in a duel. He sought out the boy, and they dueled- only to Arkana's failure. He never saw Catherine again.
