Tenaka appears to be just an insane, inbred vampire(her parents were brother and sister), but she is much more than that. She is perhaps too intelligent for her own good. When we first meet her, it seems that she is only obssessed with the Guardian of Darkness, but as the series goes on, and as her story unfolds, it becomes evident that the Guardian of Darkness is, in fact, her true love, and she cares deeply for her.

Ceres is the original Guardian of Darkness. However, she also possessed the power of Life. Her power of darkness ultimately corrupted her. Out of her fear of death, she created the Dimension of Darkness where she resided for several centuries. Then, her descendant, Anne, entered the Dimension of Darkness she saw her chance to be reborn in a physical body, and slowly took over Anne's mind and body.

Regent is a twisted character. When he first set out to take over the earth and heaven, he did so with the intention of creating a world where his younger sister Jayne could be free of demon society. Of course, in order to do that, he first had to conquor the world. Then things began to fall apart when his sister fell in love with an angel who turned her against him (or so he thinks). In revenge, he killed the angel, stole her child and left her to kill herself. Skip 300 years. Regent remains the only demon in known existance to have ever conquored all three realms. And not nessisarily because of his power. Regents true strength lies in his ability to create illusions and his intrinsic knowlege of how best to use them.
