Century Winter: Six Years Later
Century Winter is a Character in a roleplaying game.  Ahe has Pyrokineses, the sight which lets her see auoras and she is an infernal.
There was the quite shuffling of paper and the sound of a keyboard being put to use.  This
was the normal sound in the records department at Miskatonic University.  Century had
managed to work her way up here from the mail room over the last six years.  Now she
was second to the lead of the department and in another year or two she might get that
position as well.  Most questioned how she was able to rise to her current position so
quickly and others knew how.  Its was easy to raise to her current position with a lot of
hard work and all the late nights she was more than willing to do.  It was an easy job
though and even  with working at that university she still felt the need to do more work.

After her and the doc went their separate ways she got a part time job working on
the weekends at an occult bookstore, which she lived above.  The store owner owned the
entire building and lived across the hall from her small apartment.  He gave here a
discount on her rent for her working there and it enabled him to go out of town when
needed since she could watch the store and he could stay open longer in the evenings
since most of the folks that walked thru the door only had free-time in the evenings. Even
though it didnt pay much she kept to herself mostly unless a cute guy caught her eye.

Century kept in touch with Kevin on occasion, but never actively sought him out
to chat.  It was usually when the two crossed paths on campus.  She and Nolen got
together once every other week or so to discuss what was going on and such.

So here she was in one of the back rooms going over the payment records for the
last year including the current semester.  Every year for the last three years she would
pick a section of the department and make sure it was all organized and a copy of it was
on the computer.  The first year it was the student grades (she had found a couple of
errors there, failing grades on classes that students never took or from students that had
transferred or dropped the class).  The year after that it was the student records
themselves.  Before they had been  ordered by year then by name.  She changed that.
Now it was completely  by name.  Much easier to find a person when you dont have to
guess which year they attended classes.  That and she compared the records to the
computers to ensure that the computer records were up to date.  This years goal was
suggested by /Margaret/ the head of the records department.  She was going thru and
making sure that the student fees were up to date and to make sure that any and all refund
checks were sent out to the students.  So far she had come across six for the last year.  It
was a simple matter to write a letter to the finance department with the now more than
likely expired check for them to reissue and get sent to the former students after a quick
financial check was done.

Looking down at the file she had out she typed the name into the computer and
pulled up the student file.  Seeing no errors she placed it into the done pile. As she
reached for another one she felt a strange feeling go thru her body.  A sense of something
being wrong.  At first it was subtle, but as she stopped to ponder the source it grew
worse.  The need to know was overwhelming, so she set the student folder she was on
aside and stepped outside.  Once she was outside she could see what had caused the
feeling.  One of her special gifts allowing her to see the large beacon on the other side of
the campus where the dorms were.  At that point she began to hear the sirens.
