It was early morning only a couple of hours before dawn.  Absent was the crowd and only the circus staff and its animals remained.  Trowa was out feeding said animals, the normal staff was long asleep, and Yurii, Heidi, Kara were in the Main tent practicing on one routine or another.  Yurii was lifting an insane, in Heidi’s opinion, amount of weight, Heidi was working on her aim with the knives, and Kara was demonstrating her skills in being able to talk and practice on the tight rope at the same time.  Her voice had a high pitch to it, one that was normal for a 16 year old, but Heidi found it annoying and only wished it would shut up.  Especially since her voice, and it’s words were directed at Heidi.  Kara didn’t talk to Yurii she would command and order, always feeling better than him, unimpressed that he might just be strong enough to throw her into the next country if he wanted.

Heidi was doing a remarkably good job at not paying attention to what the other was saying, but it was becoming increasingly hard and words started to filter through to her brain.

“…you shouldn’t even be here.  He deserves someone worth his time. [pause for a trick]  I know he’ll tire of you eventually and then it will just be us.  You’re just some stray that followed him home one night.[pause] I mean you don’t actually thing he likes you or something…” Heidi knife missed its mark and she hoped that it was not too much for Kara not to notice. Apparently it was.  “Oh…you do don’t you… That’s so sad…” Kara turned and began going the other direction on the tight rope and didn’t see Heidi move.  She was already turned back to her target board when she heard the yelp and a thud.  It was satisfying but didn’t make the anger subside.  Moments later she was forcefully spun around and felt a punch hit her across the face.  Kara was still a Brujah and was stronger than she looked, but not all that smart.  Her mistakes were; one, she stopped punching, two, she didn’t see how mad the single punch made Heidi, and last in light of Heidi being very pissed, she didn’t run.

Heidi was taller than Kara by a few inches.  And it was easy for her to grab Kara’s slim neck with one hand as she began to pummel her face with the other hand.  In moments Kara’s face was a bloody mess and Heidi was showing no signs of stopping.  Kara, however was not just standing there taking it, her fingers were clawing at Heidi’s hand on her neck and her arms, or trying to block the punches, but without luck.  There was a moment where Heidi stopped and Kara hopped her rage had passed.  There was no such luck.  She felt as Heidi adjusted her grip to a more solid one and realized a little too late the teeth heading down to her throat.

Kara was surprised as she was released and fell back on the ground on her ass, hearing this enraged scream.  She didn’t see Yruii at first, just big arms holding a thrashing Heidi away from her.  She didn’t actually see him until Yruii half turned Heidi away from her and spoke to her.  “Go. Get. Trowa.”  Kara finally started to move and ran from the tent.  Yurii may be strong, but it was probably not an easy feat to hold a frenzying Brujah still.
