Turkish artist Selahattin Olceroglu resides in the city of Istanbul and has been doing pyrographic art for many years. The 60-year-old artist has made it his personal challenge to interpret in the technique of pyrography the Orientalist works of European artists from the 19th Century.

Selahattin Olceroglu has his own bilingual website (in Turkish and English) with a gallery of his works, as well as his ideas on the technique of pyrography at www.yakmaresim.com.

See more works by this artist and read about this artist's goals for these works, as well as his ideas on the future of pyrography in an illustrated article entitled Selahattin Olceroglu Recreates 19th Century Orientalist Works published in the July-August 2006 issue of WOM, linked here.

As of the autumn 2006, another web site is featuring this artist's work. It is the site at www.pyrography.net.
