The Sims Unleashed Strategy Guide
Welcome to the new Sims Unleadshed Expansion Pack
1 Creating a Family
After you get past the title screen and all that you'll come to a view of
the neighbourhood. They may be a few houses scattered around, one of which
has a big flashing arrow. That is the tutorial house, and I recommend you first play it before leaping into the Sims.
Now look across the top row of buttons. The one you are interested in is
the left-most of the center group, the one with a few people on it. Now
click that and you instantly taken to a screen that lists all the families
that are not currently in any house. Click and empty line (or the button
with a few people and a plus sign) to create and modify a new m ember.
You'll be prompted to enter a last name. For example Parnwell. After all
that, click the button that lights up (or flashes) at the top: the one of
the group of three. Here you get to personalise your first character. At
the top of the screen you should now type in a first name. Example "John" . Next you need to enter your character's attributes.
1 a Attributes
The attributes are divided up into five main categories. They are the
following: Neat, Outgoing, Active, Playful and Nice. You can assign up
to 10 points to any of the above list attributes, but you have a total limit
of 25 points.
~Neat~
Indicates how environmentally your sims are, and what the chances are of
doing the cleaning automatically. If you set it to the maximum which is
10 then your Sims will have no problems always cleaning the table, washing
the dishes and flushing the toilet when finished eating and doing their business. A minimum rating of zero will make your Sim a complete slob who doesn't mind being in its own filth, and will not always want to clean up
after everything they do. Note: This will effect the room rating bar.
~Outgoing~
This indicates how well your Sims get to know each other. If you make it
as 10 it will make a lot of friends. I mean about 2-3 friends a day or
even more. But if you set it at 0, it makes friends less easily than a
corpse. Note: This will affect the social bar.
~Active~
This will indicate how much your sims like to move around. For example : A
high rated Sim means htat it would rather play basketball, rather than just
sitting round watching TV. A low rated Sim does just the opposite. Note:
This will effect on how long it takes for that sim to wake up after sleeping.
A sim with a active rating of 10 will literally leap out of bed. But a sim with a zero will take about one full game housr to get up from bed.
~Playful~
Which will indicate how much your sims prefers games over other serious
things/business. This will combine with active and will give you an idea of
what the sim wants to do with itself to get its fun mood up to full.
~Nice~
Which just indicates how well your Sims get along with each other (friends /family members)., This combines with outgoing, affects the way
your sims make friends.
Once you have atributed neat, outgoing, active, playful and nice. Now
check out the series of seven buttons to the right. The top two will
effect whether this sim is a child or an adult. Note: All families should
have at lease one adult, since a child can't get a job to earn money.
Below there are three buttons that change your Sims skin tone from light to medium to dark. The the bottom two set of buttons sets its gender, the one
on the left is for male and the one on the right is for females.
Once you have finished with your sims age, skin tone and setting the gender, take a look at the arrows that flank your sims head and body. Use these and scroll through the available choices of heads and clothes (this is called skins). Don't worry so much about the clothes since you can change it in the
game, but one you choose a head, its locked in for eternity.
To confirm your choices, just click the done button. You'll be taken back to the family screen where you entered the last name. You can add up to seven more members for a total of eight, but you'll have to be careful. Hint! The more people you have, the faster you will earn money, but the more maintenance you have to pay. If this is your first family I think you should stick to no more than 2-4 people.
The attributs is the most important part of the game, but once you set them,
so make sure you choose them carefully.
At the bottom of the screen there is a section where you can write a bio for your sims. Its totally optional.
Once you are satisfied with your family, click the done button on the create family screen. Remember that you can never come back to the create family screen again to edit anyone.
3 Buying a lot and building a house.
On the family select screen, now click the family you just make, then the button in the bottom-right ( a family with an arrow pointeng to a house).
You'll be instantly kicked back to the neighbourhood screen where you can
select which lot you want to buy. You have to buy a lot that does not have a
family already there but you can buy one if it already contains a house.
However, but I quite like building houses ( and it is cheaper that way tha buying a huge house of the best price). The more people that are In your sim family, the less expensive the lot you should buy. It's up to you, of cours, but there's no other reason to make this too hard if it's your first time
If the lot you wanted is taken by a family and or a house, you can evict the
family or simply bulldoze the house to clear the lot. To do this simply click
the button at the top of the screen with a bulldozer picture. Your cursor will change; click the lot you wilsh to clear after that. If there's a family
there, you'll be asked if you want to evict them. Doing this will sell everything like objects, woall, carpets, not including wasllls, then throws them away and gives the money back into the accounts. Either way, you'll then be asked to bulldoze the house. If you agree, then the whole lot is demolished. Trees and hills will stay as they were. But the walls, carpets and roofs will be no more.
Now make sure family is selected , now click the lot you wish to move into.
All the families will start off with $20,000 (simoleans) and once you buy the
lot, the cost is deducted automatically from your bank account.
