My Tribute to Tesla, California
Tesla Plantlife Photos One thing I love about the Tesla area is the wonderful diversity of plant life. This page is primarily wildflowers. The pictures here are reduced and may be clicked on to see their full size. You will need to hit your browser's "back" button however to return to the photo pages. They may take a while to load so please be patient. Also, Botany is sort of my weak point, so if anyone viewing these pages can provide me with better details of any of the photos, please e-mail the info to me at [email protected]
These flowers remind me of an octopus tendril. It's just a guess here, but perhaps they are forget me nots?
Springtime on the South Slope brings a medly of wildflowers. Click to enlarge a bit then hit "back" to return.
Also on the South Slope in springtime. These are mostly purple and some white flowers.
I have no idea what this was, but it seemed so interesting. Especially with the coating of spring frost on it.
This is one of my favorites, a red indian paintbrush variety. But please feel free to correct me if I am in error.
My best guess on this would be some sort of Aster or perhaps an elecampane.
This plant has small reddish purple flowers and a square stem. Perhaps some mint variety?
Here is another one I have no clue on. Pretty yellow flowers though, sort of similar to honeysuckle.
I have little doubt that this is a white lupine. It was the first white one I had ever seen. I understand there are more than 200 varieties of lupine.
These Yellow flowers are very prolific in the valley floor of Tesla when in bloom. Again I am uncertain as to the species, but they are sort of bristly as can be seen in the photo.
To sign my guestbook, please
I hope you are enjoying the album so far. Please remember to e-mail me if you have any information to better describe any of the pictures you see or if you find any errors on the pages. I would really appreciate it. I decided to keep each page to 12 photos max so the download time wouldn't be too long. So please click the button below to go on to the next page. :-)
