Yumenegau stood face to face with her, he pushed her forward onto the platform and she stumbled, "Hey! I thought you had said....." she looked again at his puzzled face, "Nevermind. Well, I have to go, bye." She waved at him quickly and quickly started walking away, feeling uncomfortable.
She turned to see if she was outta sight and saw he was walking just a few paces behind her. She decided to head for a magazine shop, maybe she'd loose him. She walked past a few extra blocks, and circled one three times, trying to shake him off. He kept following.
She finally turned to him, "Why are you following me?!"
He looked at her like he was surprised she would accuse him of such a thing. His eyes gained a hurtful look. It was too much for Rinoa, he looked like an innocent puppy. "Please, go. I would like to be by myself."
Yume looked down sadly and nodded, he left without a word. Rinoa, continued her walk, though slowly this time, and concentrating on every detail of the city. Rinoa walked on past the magazine shop, not going in. She walked to some of the lower levels of Timber, everything seemed to get darker around the lower levels. She continued her search for answers. Answers to questions that had been haunting her sence the end of Forest Owls.
After she had been walking for a while, she heard footsteps. Did Yume manage to find her again. She stopped and turned around to face him and tell him off, but this time, it wasn't Yume she saw. It was someone else.
"Good morning, everybody!" Selphie came bounding into the cafeteria and sat down with, a not so happy looking, Zell, a very sleepy Irvine, and Quistis who sat drinking a cup of coffee and reading some book.
Zell looked up at Selphie, "Go shove it up your-"
"Zell!" Quistis snapped, stopping him before he could say anything he would later regret.
Irvine looked at Selphie and groaned, "I'm not very happy with you right now."
Selphie's smile seemed to fade slowly as she looked to Irvine in a sad but puzzled manner. "What did I do...?"
Quistis laid her book on the table in front of her and took a sip of her coffee, "Good morning, Selphie, how are you today?"
Selphie smiled at Quistis and seated herself, "Eh, fine. You?" Her gaze shifted back and forth towards Irvine and the blond woman, with whom she was trying to converse.
Quistis nodded and picked up her book again, just as Irvine was about to fall asleep on top of it. She began reading again.
Selphie sat there with nothing to do, "Um... Quisty? Where's Squall?"
Quistis didn't take her eyes off of the book, "Probably asleep in his dorm." She picked up her coffee and took another sip.
"Where's Rinoa?" Selphie asked quickly.
Quistis almost spewed her coffee, before she could swallow it, and began promptly coughing like mad.
"Quistis is there something wrong?" Selphie looked at Quistis shocked by this sudden reaction.
Quistis looked up at her with a totally forced smile, "No, why would you ask that?"
Selphie stared at Quistis, "Well... " she continued to stare at Quistis, then shrugged, "You're... paranoid, I know she's in the Infirmary."
Quistis looked at Selphie, "I'm what?"
Selphie turned pale and she bit her lip, "You're nothing!"
Quistis stared at Selphie blankly, "You better stop while you're ahead."
Selphie nodded and seated herself by Irvine, who had fallen asleep.
Everyone looked at Irvine as he let out a very loud snore that seemed to echo through the nearly empty cafeteria, as well as waking up every other student resident at Balamb Gardens.
Squall quietly approached the table unnoticed and sat down staring at everyone, who sat watching Irvine, "What is the point of this new game, you people have created?"
Quistis, Selphie, and Zell jumped, and Irvine choked on one of his phenominally loud snores. Squall spoke quietly, but it was still startling, seeing as how he was usually such a serious and quiet person.
Quistis looked up at him, "There's no end to your humor, Squall!" Quistis giggled.
Squall kept his blank stare, and looked around, stopping suddenly after looking around the circle and stopping at Selphie who sat beside him. Then he remembered who they were missing.
Quistis looked at Squall directly, trying to read his thoughts.
Squall suddenly stood up, "I'm gonna go."
Quistis held her gaze on him, "Go where?"
Quistis's amazing powers of observation had never failed her before, and she was still young, so they weren't stopping any time soon. She had noticed the younger SeeD's almost ellusive fondness of the raven haired girl. She could tell it bothered him... when she was missing.
Squall turned a pale red and quickly turned away, "Um... I guess I'll go and make sure Rinoa is still in the Infirmary... I don't know."
Quistis jumped up, suddenly, nearly knocking over the table as she did so, "Of coarse she's still in the Infirmary!!"
Everyone changed their gaze to Quistis, slightly shocked by the sudden change in her mood.
The tall blond glanced around nervously for a moment. "Well... It's not like comatose people take walks around our Garden!" She stuttered for a quick cover. "I mean... Of course she's still asleep, you don't need to go see her..." Her face flushed.
She walked over to Squall and stood infront of him, "Why don't you just stay here and have lunch with us..." she looked around frantically, "Squall?"
Squall looked at her, "What are you hiding? She's gone isn't she?" He turned and headed for the infirmary, followed by the rest of the gang. Quistis was not one to easily hide her emotions or thoughts. She was also a very bad liar.
Are you actually reading this?
Quistis ran to catch up, "She's there, you don't have to go to the Infirmary!" It was too late.
Squall entered the Infirmary quickly rushing right past Dr. Kadowaki in to Rinoa's room.
He stood there the bed was empty and know sign Rinoa had been there at all. The bed had been made and anything that was there before was gone now. The rest of the gang entered, followed by Quistis. Everyone turned to Quistis after seeing the empty bed.
Quistis took a step back, "She went to Dollet to visit a friend for a few days. She said she would be back in about a week." She frowned staring at the floor.
Dr. Kadowaki stepped in, appearantly she had heard Quistis's explanation, "Well, Ms. Trepe, she could've at least waited until morning or given me notice of her sudden leave.
Quistis frowned, "I'm sorry, I just found out myself."
