Squall stumbled back as the sorceress stared at him with catlike eyes, glowing yellow and angry. She cast Blizzaga on the unprepared SeeD. He was paralyzed, his legs weak, he couldn't stand for fear of the pain that would come, he already suffered more than he had when Edea had threw that javelin of ice through his chest at the parade in Deling City. He fell to the ground against the back wall.
"Kome on foolish SeeD!" The sorceress rose to float in the air, visibly weaker, "Kan't you finish what you start!? Kome on! Finish me! You dared to be brave, now own up to it, fool!"
Yumenegau pounced quickly striking a weakening blow to the sorceresses shoulder. Blood of dark emerald green began to slide down her body, dripping onto the floor. Her eyes, now red, showed more than anger. Possibly a sense of.. fear? She looked almost demonic either way, though.
The blond SeeD rose from her spot on the floor, feeling ill. She couldn't stand right and she was confused, the last thing she remembered was a collision of sounds as she blacked out, unable to lift. Thought hit her like a rock as the midnoght breeze blew against her back. 'Squall! What happened?' She turned to the large gap, no hand held on for life at its edge. She began to weep.
Squall watched as the former Instructor, Quistis, began to cry staring at the large hole in the wall. He tried to call her, but his voice wouldn't work. No sound came out, so he lay silently, unmoving. "...Quistis..." he managed the word, but it was but a whisper.
She turned to him, her eyes filling with more tears, "Squall!" She glanced back at the sorceress, who had quickly thrown Yumenegau against another wall with ease. She ran towards Squall and extended her hand, "We have to get rid of her."
Feeling the pain rush through him he winced, gasping for breath, as his broken ribs seemed to press against his lungs. The instructor looked pale, she stood a bit tipsy and held her left hand out to keep her balance. They would be overjoyed when this battle ended. He excepted her hand in reluctance, and she pulled him up.
The question froze him in place.
"Where is Rinoa?"
He sucked in a deep breath threw clenched teeth and narrowed his eyes at Elynia. "Later." He tightened the grip on his gunblade, "How do we get rid of her?"
Quistis looked at a loss for words, "Just..." she gestured at his gunblade and glanced at the sorceress."
Squall nodded, "This is the last time!" He ran at the sorceress, as Quistis gathered her chain whip behind him.
It was flight, a high he needed to escape reality. It was a mixture of emotion, of feeling. He felt stronger than ever. He clenched his teeth and prepared for the last blow he could manage. He had to finish this. His legs were renewed with an energy he had never felt before. His mind thought of the battle with Seifer. That day he had lost. He had earned that scar across his forehead. He couldn't loose this one. Drawing back the blade he quickly brought it down with unneeded force.
The green liquid ran over his hands and down his blade. The blade had gone straight through her stomach. The sorceress cough, spilling blood from her mouth. She reached towards his neck, her nails long and sharp.
On impulse as his energy once again depleted, he pulled the blade from her and staggered backwards as the sorceress fell to the ground. He threw the blade through the air to stab her in the middle again. It landed standing hilt skyward, as she lay unmoving on the ground.
Quistis gasped, "The dream..." she stared at the Griever, its chain dangling from the hilt covered in green liquid. 'But a sorceress isn't dead until her powers...'
The sudden electricity ran through her. Something new to her body. The blond SeeD stumbled to fall as the power resided to the recesses within her mind. The red light had jumped at her just as the though hit her. She winced as her surroundings spun faster. She head the chain of the Griever click and the small sound of blood dripping onto the floor. Her senses had increased. 'So now...I have her powers?'
It had come to quick, she hadn't expected this at all. Now Quistis had the power of Elynia. She saw the amazed look from Squall across the room. Elynia's body vanished as well as the mess of emerald stained blood. Though there were still the gaps in the walls, the large hole in the ceiling.
It had been a fight, a victorious one. No matter what depressed her and what made her want to celebrate their victory, she was simply too tired, and she heard Squall collapse across the room from her, just before she collapsed herself.
