Lylian watched her friend through her sunglasses. It was a beautiful sunny day, the sky was a clear blue over the little cemetery. The hot temperature of Argentina reminded her of California's. Leaning against the door of the little car, she kept wondering if she should go with her friend, supporting her through that step but deep inside of her, something kept saying that she needed to be alone. She saw Gaby stop, kneel down in front of a gravestone, lodging some flowers at its bottom.
Lylian didn't leave her eyes off her friend a minute, knowing all the pain and sadness Gaby was going to. To finally accept that her mother loved her and had a good reason to abandon her had been hard for her. All those years Gaby had learned to hate her mother and forget about her... now she felt she needed to apologize. That's why they were both here today, in one of Buenos Aires cemetery.
During the last months, they had recovered from all their bruises. Lylian's arm was okay now, even though she had to be careful. They had continued the tour even though Lylian and Ally didn't dance for a while. Ally was alright. She had finally awoke a few days after their arrival at the hospital. She had some bruises but the bigger injuries were on her psychological side. Traumatized and scared at the beginning, also ashame of what she had done, taking all the blame on herself, it had taken a few weeks before she finally accepted that they had all forgiven her and were not angry. She had started dancing back a month and half after the events. She had support from everyone, all were trying to confort her when she needed it, mostly Brian who had always been a good friend of hers. Well, Brian seemed to be supporting everyone. He had been there a lot for Gaby too, his big brother side coming out a lot around her. And he had been there for Lylian also and Aj... herself because he was always very patiently listening to her blabling about Deryck.. and Aj about Keri. And with all the love he had for Mary... Lylian couldn't help but say that this boy had the biggest heart.
Half an hour passed by and Gaby was still looking down her mother's grave, eyes closed. Lylian knew, at least, that Gaby would have one side of her in peace. She had been through so much, she was just deserving such a thing. Things were starting to get better now... knowing William was locked in was like turning a page to her life, starting a new chapter. Lylian hoped that this new chapter would be better... a lot better. Not that it was so hard to beat. But she knew that Gaby felt lonely. She wasn't used not having someone to be real close to... but her new family on tour was doing a good job showing her love and true friendship. Lylian knew that one day Gaby would find a special someone... someone who would love her truly. She was still young anyways...she had all her life in front of her.
Gaby finally stood up and walked back to the car, glancing one last time at the grey stone. Lylian sighed as he heart started beating faster. She knew that the next step was way more scary and important than this one... and she was wondering if Gaby still had the courage to do it.
"You alright?!" Lylian asked, getting her sunglasses off and staring at Gaby's red eyes.
"Yes.. I'm feeling better." Gaby answered with a sigh but a little smile on her lips.
"Good..." Lylian said.
"Let's go.." Gaby said, hopping in the car. Lylian sighed, walked around the car to the driver seat. They left the cemetery in silence and drove for a couple of minutes.
"You sure you wanna do this?!" Lylian asked as the pulled in front of the large building.
"Yeah..." Gaby replied, her voice shaking a little.
"You don't have to you know.."
"Yes I do... I need to affront him... to see him and hear his story.."
"Story.." Lylian whispered, shaking her head a little.
"Don't worry. I'll be okay." Gaby said, trying to make a rassuring smile.
"You sure you don't want me to go with you?!"
"No..I need to be alone with him.. he's my father after all."
"What a father.." Lylian thought but simply nodded, really not pleased with the idea.
"I'll be okay!" Gaby exclaimed, pulling her friend for a hug.
"I'll be right here... waiting. Good luck..." Lylian said as they broke apart, her own voice shaking a bit.
"Thanks. See ya in a little bit." Gaby replied, closing the door of the car. She took a deep breath and started walking toward the entrance of Buenos Aires central jail.
