Excitement, nervousness, happiness, ... it could all be felt in the backstage area of the Staples Center of Los Angeles. There were people running everywhere, a few fans waiting, anxious and excited to meet their idols and the idols, walking nervously and making sure everything was perfect for the concert.
"Stop being so perfectionnist Kevin... you know everything will be great!" Vickie sighed, following him in the long hallways.
"I just want everything to be all right.."
"It will be and you know it..." she giggled. "Why don't we go sit down and rest before you go on stage?" she asked, hoping he would agree. He turned around and face her with a smile.
"It'd be amazing...but we have the meet and greet..." he sighed.
"Yeah that's right. Well, go ahead and meet me back in the dressing room alright?"
"Sure! See ya in a minute!" he told her. They kissed and then both went in different ways.
Kevin met his four band mates in front of the door of the 'meet and greet room'.
"So you guys ready?" Brian asked.
"Yeah, let's go!" Nick shouted and they all entered as the fans stopped talking. The boys greeted them and talked a little with them, took pictures and signed some stuff. The girls there were not older than 15 years old, except one, leaning against the wall, apart from the others. She was probably about 18 or 19 years old... She had long curly dark hair and deep green eyes. Her skin was kinda tan and she had a american-latino look.
"Hi!" Nick flashed his beautiful smile to the girl. He looked for something to sign or a camera but the girl just stared back at him.
"Hi! Um..I was looking for my friend and the big guy at the entrance told me to come here... " the girl replied with a little smile.
"Oh!" Nick replied, surprised. "Who's your friend?" he asked.
"Lylian Deakings... your new, and best, dancer!" the girl smiled slyly.
"Oh! That's cool..can you wait a few minutes?? I'll go get her!!" Nick said.
"Sure no problem...Nick? that's right?!?"
"Yeah that's it. Nice to meet you...?!?!" Nick smiled, his eyes not leaving hers as he shook her hand.
"Gabriela!" she replied showing him her cutest smile.
Nick smiled back and walked out of the room and then in the hallways that leaded him to the dancers dressing room.
Gabriela rest on the wall as she waited impatiently to see her friend again. She glanced at the other Backstreet Boys once in a while. She had been a fan at their start but with everything that had happened in her life for the last years, she had not been very up to date with the music industry. But show-business and artists had always impressed her a lot so to have them in front of her was very pleasant. She wondered how Lylian would react to see her now. She knew she was suppose to join her on tour only in a few days but, she had to run away from her 'life'. When she glanced another time to the little group beside her, she saw one of the guys staring at her. She looked back in front of her and crossed her arms on her stomach. A few minutes later, the fans were leaving but Gaby stayed, hoping Lylian and Nick would come back soon.
"Oh my God!!!" she heard the voice she knew so well screamed. "Gaby?!?!!?!?!?"
"The one and only!" she smiled weakly. The four other guys turned to her and looked at the two with puzzle looks.
Lylian ran up to her and hugged her tight.
"What the hell are you doing here???" Lylian exclaimed, almost in tears.
"What do you think??" Gaby chuckled.
"But we were suppose to meet in San Diego!"
"I know... I just...I needed to get away..." her friend replied, looking at the floor.
"Oh I'm so happy to see you!!! It's been so long!!!" Lylian shouted, hugging her again.
"I know!! I'm happy too!" Gabriela giggled.
Lylian was about to speak when she realized they were not alone and that the five backstreet boys were staring at them with puzzle looks.
"Guys, I want you to meet my best friend, Gabriela...but you can call her Gaby!" Lylian told everyone.
"Oh so you're the friend who's gonna tour with us for a while?" Kevin asked as the four others turned to him. "Yeah sorry guys I didn't have the chance to tell you yet...Lylian asked me if she could have a friend on tour and I told her she could since she'll have a room for herself anyways..." he explained. "Nice to meet you!" he then smiled at Gaby. "I thought we were gonna meet you in San Diego too..."
"Yeah I know sorry...I just...really had to come now...I hope it won't be a problem!"
"Of course not... welcome on tour!" Kevin kindly said.
"Thanks a lot for allowing me to stay! You can't imagine how happy this makes me!"
"No problem sweetie!"
Howie and Aj then introduced themselves but didn't stay long because they still had to get changed for their costumes. Brian shook her hand and continued to stare at her with this strange look.
"Do I have something in my face??" Gaby asked seriously.
"Uh...No, sorry!!" he apologized. "I'm Brian!"
"Nice to meet you..." she replied, giving him a strange look. She didn't know why he was looking at her this way...like he was trying to remember where he had seen her... but she had never met any of the boys.
Soon, everyone went in their different dressing rooms to get ready because the concert was going to start in a few minutes. Lylian and Gaby walked to the dancers dressing room.
"Oh I'm so nervous!!!" Lylian exclaimed as they walked in the hallways.
"You know you're gonna do great! Don't worry 'bout that girl! You're used to be on stage!"
"I know... but...it's different..I dunno!" Lyilan giggled.
"OH MY GOD!!! GABY????????" a voice screamed from behind. The two girl turned around to see Fatima standing there, a shock look on her face. "AAAAAAHHHHH!!!" she yelled, running to them.
"Hi Fatima!!!" Gaby laughed as they hugged.
"Oh God!! Look at you!!" Fatima explained, looking at her up and down. "You've grown up to much!!!"
"Same for you huh??" Gaby winked.
"Yeah! But...wow you really look amazing! I feel like the last time I've seen you was such a long time ago!!"
"It was 5 years ago... I was 13!" Gaby said.
"Yes! Oh God! Sorry I'm a little surprised!! You came for the concert??"
"Yes!"
"And for all the tour too!!" Lylian smiled.
"Really?" Fatima shouted.
"Yep, it's gonna be cool!" Gaby bounced.
"Too bad I'm leaving tonight... but we'll watch the show together...we'll watch you Lily!!" Fatima winked at Lylian.
"Like I'm not stressed enough!" she laughed.
"You better go because you're on in 5!" Fatima told her.
"Oh God! Ok! See ya later guys!!!!" Lylian ran away.
"Good luck Lyl!!!!" Gaby screamed before to see her dissapear in the hallways.
The show started a few minutes later as the stadium filled up with screams. The loud music came out and everyone came on stage and gave all their energy to the fans. As Brian sang his part of the song, he spotted Lylian's friend in the special section for families and friends. He knew her... he had seen her somewhere... but where?? He couldn't remember...like it was a really old memory. She was younger than him so she could be a fan but...something inside him was telling him it was not the reason he thought he knew her... He tried to forget about it and looked at his girlfriend who was smiling brightly at him. He waved and smiled back and continued to sing and dance.
On her side, Lylian couldn't stop smiling. She had missed being on stage so much and to dance in front of all those people now was bringing so much good memories to her. She felt like she was flying and was in a total other world. She glanced fastly to the reserved section for friends and saw Fatima and Gaby dancing with her and giving her thumbs up. Aj took her hand and spun her around and they both started dancing wildly to the beating music. The fans cheered loudly through all the show that unfortunately for everyone, had to end soon.
After the concert, the Boys ran backstage and hopped in the big tour bus where their girlfriends were waiting for them. When they stepped in, the girls and few other people waiting applaused them.
"Thank you! Thank you!" Nick laughed.
"You guys were so great!! This show is amazing!!" Michelle exclaimed as Howie walked toward her.
"Hey Babe!" Aj smiled slyly, wrapping his arms around Katya's waist.
"Hey Sexy! You did a good job!" she said with a mischevious grin.
"Thank you miss!" he replied before to plant a kiss on her lips.
Brian walked up to Mary and the two kissed for a few long seconds. Nick stared at them and shook his head before to walk in the other room. Again, alone. He didn't know why he was always feeling angry at himself everytime he was the only one single... he knew he shouldn't feel that way but he couldn't help it. His last real girlfriend had been in the last tour and since then, he had only been involved with a few girls...for a few days. Not that he didn't like it but...he wanted something real, like his friends. The bus pulled in front of the hotel and when security made sure everything was safe, the Boys came out with their girls and walked in the hotel.
"Everything is ready for the party?" Kevin asked one of the security guard.
"Yup! You can go changed and then get down, everything is okay! We're just waiting for everyone else... "
"They won't be here for...an hour or so... let's go all rest a bit and then meet downstair?" Brian demanded.
"Sounds good!" Aj said and they all went in their different bedrooms and waited for everyone else to get back from the stadium.
