TuxedoMask
When all seems lost Tuxedo Mask appears to help the Sailors conquer their enemies. His Earth identity is Darien.
As a signature piece, Tuxedo Mask always leaves a red rose behind. He can use his red rose to announce his presence, or throw it directly at an enemy to neutralize them, but to do so weakens him considerably. Tuxedo Mask and Sailor Moon have a very special bond that began when they met on the Moon.Darien was Tuxedo Mask, long before he knew it. Every time Sailor Moon was in trouble he'd transform into a hero that would fight the NegaVerse (or the dark kingdom). He had many dreams of Princess Serenity on the Moon Kingdom. It wasn't until he found the first rainbow crystal that he learned his true identity. It wasn't until the Silver Crystal was formed that he realized Serena was in fact Princess Serenity.
Prince Darien
Before he was Darien or Tuxedo Mask he was a prince from Earth sworn to defend the Moon Kingdom. Originally Prince Darien (Prince Endymion), he is reborn a thousand years later in our current time. During his career he is overcome by the evil forces of the Negaverse. His mind then becomes the property of Queen Beryl who uses him for her own twisted purposes.
Living in a small apartment in Juubangai, Japan, Darien is a 20-year-old college student at the Azabu Institute of Technology. Two years later, in the Sailor Moon Sailor Star series, he leaves to attend Harvard University in the United States. His continuing education may be an explanation of his absence for a large portion of the Sailor Star episodes.
Darien is a dashing blue-eyed young man who is tall and handsome. He attracts the attention of many women during the series. His chief love interest for a large period of the anime and manga is the clumsy, complaining Serena (Usagi). She gives Darien the pet name Mamochan in the Japanese series. Several others girls like Raye (Rei) were infatuated with him. In one case the space alien Anne (Ann) fell for Darien! His best friend is Andrew (Motoki), the apron-wearing supporting character who spends time at the neighborhood arcade.
In the beginning of the series, Serena found Darien to be an irritating individual. He gave her the nickname "Meatball Head" ("Odango Atama" a Japanese dessert). Darien was always teasing her, making her loath the name. Eventually they bond and became closer (as they are meant to be), realizing their love for each other when they learn of their shared past in the Moon Kingdom. Darien's love for Serena became so strong that he would disregard his personal safety when rushing to save her. He did this on four occasions, (clinically) dying in two of those cases. They eventually marry, but the ceremony was never shown.
When Darien forgets his identity as Tuxedo mask his subconscious comes to Sailor Moon�s rescue as the Moonlight Knight. His signature piece is a white rose. After Beryl is defeated by Sailor Moon, all references to the Moon Kingdom and their heroic roles are eliminated from the minds of all the participants. The Moonlight Knight (Tsukikage no Kishi) appears. Actually a manifestation of the latent fighting power in Darien as well as his love for Serena, the Moonlight Knight fills in the void left by the missing Tuxedo Mask. Eventually all wrongs are made right again and our hero is totally restored.
