| So a good friend of mine once told me that this guy she knew wrote up a list of movies that he wanted her to see. She was kinda nervous about this because she kinda liked the guy and wasn't really sure what to make of it. I told her that this was actually a very good sign. "It shows that he's interested in you," I told her. And of course I was right as Sharon and Scott are now happily married and living in Cleveland. But back to me. The way I see it, making a movie list for someone means a lot. It means you think you two have similar taste in movies. It means you're opening a little window into your being for that person to crawl in through. It means you want the other person to share the common experiences of these movies which will in turn enable you two to share its inside jokes and references. In short it gives you both a common language in which to converse. In a nutshell, movies can help us related to one another in numerous ways. Either way, here are 10 movies which I think can be counted among the best ever made. |
