1. L & C meter adapter (from ARRL Handbook 2002)
I built these adapters in a single box and I used a common IC 7805.
It is ease to build and to adjust. (you will need only to set the zero !)
From left to right ...
RCA top unknow L , RCA bottom to digital meter.
Left key HI - LO L option.
Right Key HI - LO C option
RCA top unknow C , RCA bottom to digital meter
L meter adapter
Measures 3µH to 7mH
Reading directly on a external digital voltmeter (DVM or VOM).
Using a single IC 74HC132 (or HCT)
Measuring a 27µH inductor (blue)
Measuring a 6.8µH inductor (blue)
C meter adapter
Measures 2.2pF to 2.2µF
Reading directly on a external digital voltmeter (DVM or VOM).
Using a single IC 74HC132 (or HCT)
The RCA, in back, is power supply input (8 to 15Vcc)
There are a lot of wires... and few components..
I use some multi-turns trimpots, because I have a lot in my scrap box, you will use just a simple trimpot. At right top of the picture you may see the 7808 common regulator for both circuits, but a single 78L08 is OK.
