Chris yelled, leaning over slightly grasping his hands behind his head.
"I'm sorry. This just isn't working anymore. It's not you - I swear!"
Tina's voice became small as she spoke. She in no way wanted to hurt him or cause him any trouble. She just wanted this charade to end; she'd had enough.Chris' head suddenly jerked to face her and his hands flew above his head.
"I don't fucking believe this, Kristina! What the hell are you trying to do?"
"Nothing! Nothing - except leave. I can't lie anymore. I've been lying to my best friend, to my family, to management and even to myself. I can't do it anymore, Chris. This has to end. You know it, I know it...this just has to stop...all of it."
Kristina's voice became quieter and quieter as she spoke, until it was barely a whisper. She had tears in her eyes that were threatening to spill over. Chris just glared at her as his breathing became more rapid, and he began to mull over the situation. What the hell was going on? Things had been going so well - everyone believed their story - even the media! Or well, what they all knew of the situation, which was that he HAS a girlfriend, it was Tina, and it's lasting. This arrangment couldn't abruptly end like this; Chris wouldn't allow it. Tina had changed her mind so fast it seemed, too fast. She must have met someone else, Chris concluded, and this outraged him. He ignored her tears, as they finally slipped out of her eyes and down her cheeks. He swiftly crossed the room, grabbed a hold of her sholders and shook her fiercely.
