(Lidia) * 6:45 PM * Amy walked to open the front door, expecting to see Allison or Lidiabecause they were the first two she had rung. Once the door was fully open and Amy looked upher heart almost stopped from the sight. There stood, not onenot two but four worried faces belonging to Alyssa, Jessica, Allison, and Lidia. The shock soon pasted though and she motioned them in. The four girls followed her into the living room, Allison and Lidia took their usual spots on the floor, while Jessica and Alyssa sat on the couch. Amy took a seat in the recliner and cleared her throat. I suppose youre all wondering why I asked you here. They all noddedbut Lidia couldnt help but let out, Nope, were here for the ice pops your mum makes. It got a few giggles even from Amy, because it was said with such a strait face that soon cracked a smile. The giggles soon died away as they waited for Amy to continue. The tall brunette, that was on the slim side of life stood up and began to pace as she spoke. Im so sick of not having any money even though I work so hard. Im sick of being 20-years-old and living with my mum! I know you agree with me Jessica cut her of in the middle of her planned speech demanding, Yeah, but what of it Amy? Amys voice became small, Jess interruption set her off course. Her voice lost the authority it had had only a moment before, Well, I was just thinking we could try something new She responded now all shy and trailed off, embarrassed for even bringing it up. Allison rolled her eyes, Amy scared them all half to death and dragged then over to her house for this?! Ali sighed annoyed, she could be getting her hair done all nice by her cousin, but no, she was here. Look, Ames unless you have any ideas oh sit down, youre getting annoying! Allison yelled at the lifeless standing figure, who immediately sat down at the command. Ali seemed to have that effect on people; at times she sounded more like a mother than a mate. She told you something, and you felt compelled to do it. And sometimes, they had incidents like had just happened with Amybut the girls still think its just an ESP thing or something similar. Alyssa looked around at everyone. She wasnt really one to speak her mind, and mostly kept everything to herself, giving off a vibe of frailty. But this day, this moment she was going to send her mates into the next Millennium in more ways then one. Little did Alyssa know what she was about to start by continuing the conversation, by sticking with Amy. Alyssa cleared her throat, I have an idea. Wot? The girls all asked in unison, almost immediately. Surprised that their Lyss had actually spoken up. And even thought each wore a frown because of the topic of conversation, they were all smiling on the inside, and each one knew the rest were too. Alyssa, trying her best to make her relatively small voice sound louder and give her the extra boost she needed to get what she needed firmly across and maybe actually convince her mates in doing this. She always got her say, but itd been a while since shed actually convinced the girls to go somewhere or anything like that. But Alyssa believed in this, having the strong feeling that this had to work that this needed to work. I was just thinking we could, I dont knowtry our luck in the States. Allison jumped up from her place on the floor outraged by the idea. Them going to the United States and becoming dancers in New York or somewhere? Not likely! Theyd probably starve to death before getting anything for themselves, like a proper job or place to live. Thats bloody crazy! The blond extracts of your hair have DEFIANTLY gone to your head! Are you sure it wasnt bleached at your birth? Allison yelled like a mad woman. Lidia glared at Ali, desiding she had held her tongue long enoughwell since the comment about the ice pops she hadnt said a word. Alyss, thats a wicked idea! Im surprised Mummy Ali didnt like it. She smiled brightly while enthusiastically expressing to her gal pal and finishing a bit bitterly, flashing Allison a look that could kill. Lid and Ali didnt always quite see eye to eye, but that was normal. Allison ignored the looks she was getting from Lidia, Ali had crossed her arms and her expression clearly showed her disapproval. Jessica who had kept quiet for a while piped up, I guess its settled thenwere going to the U.S.! The other four girls exchanged looks, even Lidia and Ali. They all realized the same thinghow happy Jess seemed. The enthusiasm in her voice, the excitement practically leaking from her body, and the smile that yelled I cant wait! werent that hard to see. They hadnt seen her so happy it quite awhile, if they remembered correctly it had been 3 years since she was so so giddy. Jessica had still been with James thenat the time he had seemed to make her happy, but that had changed. They had changed. But that was the past, and were living in the now. And the now happened to be 5 practically broke, single girls, who were still living at homeand had to get out of the small town they lived in. Allison threw a pillow at Lidia, Agh! Cant you four see the logic? Where will we stay? What will we do? What will keep us from starving our poor selves to death in some foreign country so far from home? And most of all, how will we get there? We basically have NO money! She yelled, and they all knew how she could ramble on and on when she thought she was being wise. Sure there was some logic to what Ali had said, but each girl had a good feeling about this. That something new, interesting, exciting and worth while would be coming there way, but only if they left for America as soon as they could. Even Ali had that feeling consuming her, yet wouldnt dare admit it. There was more to life then going on every whim because of a feeling and thats what Ali was going to go with. Common sense was more her scene, and even though she was the youngest that didnt stop her from being the mother of their clique. Lidia rolled her eyes and raised her hand so it would get everyones attention. If Ali could be quiet for a moment I could answer all those questions. The room fell silent and Lidia chucked the pillow right back at Ali, and the girl fell over. This silenced Ali, and gave Lidia the opportunity to continue. Number 1, we all get some kind of employment instead of only going for performing gigs. Were going to need all the money we can get, and Im warning you all now, none of this will be easy. So in the way of funds get jobs and get them quickly, take on extra hours, or even extra employment if necessary. But dont over work yourselves. As for what well do when we get there, where we will stay and what part of America well be going to leave up to me. Ill give my Uncle Jack a ring, I bet he can put us under a roof and a start there, hes someone we can count on. And what should make us listen to you, Lidia? Ali spat, still trying to convince the lot that it wasnt a good idea. Lidia took a deep breath, somehow Alis behaviour wasnt upsetting her. And somehow a way to deal with Mummy Ali dawned on her. The power of age and trust. Well why shouldnt you, Alisson dear? Have I ever given you all cause to doubt me? Have I let you down in some way? Not last time I check. And besidesIm older then you all! Listen to your elders!! The room burst out laughing, except for Ali, who crossed her arms and pouted. Never had she expected for her older mate to put her in her place like that, even it was joking. Well theres a first time for everything, but they all seriously doubted it would be the last.
