Egg nog. I mean really, that's it. If you get it made right, it's both eggy and noggy. Mmm. Eggnog. ::her eyes glaze over:: What other kind of nog could possibly be more worthwhile?!
I just got back from seeing "The Talented Mr. Ripley"--which is, incidently, the best movie I have ever seen...and I've seen a lot--and I had to ask a few questions. However, I wouldn't really recommend reading this unless you've seen the movie, unless you a)don't care about spoilers or b) aren't planning on seeing it. Basically, Tom was gay. I have finally accepted this. However, wasn't he just technically homoerotical? Because he never actually had sex with another man that we know of. But if that means he's just homoerotical and not gay, can a virgin be gay? Or straight, for that matter? Are virgins just "unformed"? Or were my vehement protests against my parents really just wrong? Really, though, the way I see it, it's unfair to use a harsh word like "gay" on Tom...I really really fell in love with his character, and besides, he was in love, damnit.
What if someone had a twin soul who was also, quite by coincidence, their identical twin? How ironic and scary would that be? And how hard would it be to tell them apart? Or, on a similar vein, what if two soul mates who were lovers in a past life became siblings while the bond was still strong? Would it be okay for them to be lovers again? If not, would it be okay for them to be attracted to each other anyway, if they didn't act on it? Wouldn't that be an awful fate...to be unable to reach your lover for no good reason.
What if there were no hypothetical situations? I mean, really, think about that...it would be totally odd. What would you do in the hypothetical situation-free world? How would everything be affected? Would decisions be just as well made? I doubt it, personally, 'cause I go into hypothetical worlds to make all of my decisions.
Do any of those people who revere The X-Files as a religion really, honestly believe that stuff? I mean, personally, I believe in aliens and that the government withholds truth and all, but really, the show is mostly just bullshit used to jack up the ratings. They know that, right? 'Cause if not, when the show ends and they step out into the real world, they might be shocked. And what about the Trekkies/Trekkers? I mean, Star Trek has to end one day too, then they'll have to venture out into the sunlight. How sci-fi will *that* be for them?
