Testimonials
Dawn Murphy:
I first joined the Livingston County chapter in Feb of 1993. I reside in York, NY. The one
attraction to that chapter was that they had a good Widow/Widowers discussion group that I needed at
that time. I have run in that chapter as Amigo, family & Youth, Treasurer, committe member and on the
regional level I ran as Fundraiser/Community Involvement. Since then in 2003 I transfered to the
Westside single group with my 2 sons TJ and Trevor. PWP has given me the self esteem that I needed to
live on my own and be able to hold a job, raise my family, become self supportive and the confidence
of living without my husband. PWP taught me how to keep the memories I had of my husband without
breaking down and crying all the time. They taught me how to do things with my kids and have fun.
Some of the fun things we did is going to Darien Lake for the day, Camping out in the summer and
attending the International conferences meeting other members like me.
Steve Frisbee:
It was August 1996, I walked in the church in Brockport to join Parents without Partners!!! I help
with the dances. I am postman for the chapter. I was Administrative VP for a year and half as well
as this year. I became the President for five and half years. I went to all the regional and Zone
conferences. I have many friends in PWP all over the state of New York and even Hawaii!! I live in
the town of Parma and have for 52 years. I have 3 kids, a girl who is 27 years old, 2 boys who are
26 & 23 years old.
Chris Lewis:
Our President this year, was one of the charter members of the group that started in Batavia
(and later merged with chapter #1350). He became a member of PWP a little more than a year and
half ago. I have 3 boys- Kevin (12yrs), Sean (14yrs), and Bryan (19yrs). All 3 live in Ithaca.
I see 2 of my sons every other weekend and participate in many PWP functions, especially one that
involve outdoor activities (Like Polarwave Snowtubing!) Some of the PWP ladies are trying to get me
out dancing more.
