KERMIT THE
FROG INTERVIEWS MONDO MBAMBA AND EXTERMINANS
(transcribed from the October 4th, 2004 edition of Bigtime
Wrestling)
KERMIT THE FROG:
Kermit the Frog here with more Bigtime Wrestling. As you can see,
I am in one of the conference rooms here at PWL Headquarters in
St. Louis, and I am joined by former World heavyweight champion
Exterminans, and his manager, Mondo Mbamba. It's been nearly two
months now since these two men, as well as The Pillars of Pain,
joined forces. They have said that plenty of rumors,
misstatements, and misconceptions are swirling around regarding
why they have created this alliance, and Mondo Mbamba
specifically requested this time from the PWL to tell their side
of the story. Mr. Mbamba, sir.
MONDO MBAMBA:
Please, Kermit, it's Mondo. You and I go way back, man.
KERMIT:
That's true, Mondo, but given your historical managerial
attitude, I thought that...
MONDO:
Well, I'll stop you right there, man. That's but one of those
misconceptions you referred to a second ago. Now, let me have a
minute or two to say my piece, and Exterminans will have his say,
as well.
KERMIT:
Very good, Mondo.
MONDO:
First off, the two questions I've heard most often are, "Why did Exterminans do
what he did to Fat Albert?" and "What's
Mondo Mbamba doing bringing those white boys into the Black Widow
Party?"
Well, I'll leave the first question to Exterminans, but I'll be
more than happy to answer that second question. The Black Widow
Party is dead. It's no more. I'll tell you, it was a helluva way
to break into the system. A group of anything-goes, angry,
powerful black men being held down by The Man. That brought me to
where I am now. It made household names out of M. Kleats and Long
Sweet Lips. We made some good money and had some good times. But
I just said something there, the money. In this business, and in
any other business in this country, it's not about black or white.
It's all about the green, and you know what green I mean, Kermit.
Greenbacks, baby, it's about the money. That's why The Black
Widow Party is dead, we beat all the money out of that sucker.
Now, those guys, Kleats, Rudy, Satchmo, Russell, I think they're
great guys, all of them. But I'm a realist. You can't tell me
that Russell Brute could outwrestle Ben Traymor. You can't say M.
Kleats is a bigger draw than Schoolhouse Rocky. We're all here to
make as much money as possible, and you have to admit, and deep
down, Long Sweet Lips must admit, that at this stage in the game,
The Pillars of Pain are much more powerful, more dominant, and
are in a position to make more money than Tanka Satchmo and
Russell Brute.
KERMIT:
Well, I see that Golem and Quartz aren't here with you two, which
leads me to another rumor, that you and The Pillars do not get
along very well.
MONDO:
We get along well enough to function together and to use each
other to the best of our abilities. They need my promoting skills
to earn a better living, and I need their in-ring dominance to
earn a better living for myself. We don't have to be the best of
friends, and I'm not going to pretend we are. Business is
business, Kermit.
KERMIT:
Now, over to you, Exterminans. Your alliance with Mondo Mbamba
was revealed back at In Your Head in August, when your friendly
bout with Fat Albert broke down, and you and The Pillars engaged
in a three-on-one attack on Albert.
EXTERMINANS:
Yes, that's true. Fat Albert's a good man.
KERMIT:
So, then, if I may pose to you the question Mondo alluded to
earlier, why did you that to Fat Albert?
EXTERMINANS:
Fat Albert's a good man, Kermit, but as you know, he has quite a
despicable history. Fat Albert was, quite possibly, the most
hated man in all of wrestling in the 1990s. When he adopted a no-holds-barred
attitude, he won the World heavyweight championship, and kept it
for over three years. I am a former World heavyweight champion,
and I think it's been far too long since I wore that belt.
Really, I don't believe I've changed my attitude, but I do
believe in doing what it takes to get back to the top, and
staying there.
KERMIT:
You say you haven't changed your attitude much, I'll sort of see
for myself now. What do you think of the fans?
EXTERMINANS:
The fans are great. I've always been loyal to my fans, the ones
who have been loyal to me. However, back when I was in training,
Joe The Giant told me something. I never forgot it, and now I see
how right he was. Some fans can be very fickle, Kermit. You may
be the most popular guy out there one night, and hated the next.
Somebody that's beloved in St. Louis might be downright hated out
in Los Angeles. Joe The Giant was hated when he wrestled in New
York and Detroit. Big Stewie was the most hated guy in Oklahoma
City, remember when he did his anti-rodeo gimmick at the height
of Bullnanza? Even today, you have fans out there cheering for
The Terror, something I don't think I'll ever understand. So,
yeah, the fans can do what they want, but I'll always be loyal to
my true fans, They know I will do my, uh, darndest to get back to
the top of the mountain, and I will not let them down.
KERMIT:
To get to the top, Exterminans, you'll have to get past the
current World heavyweight champion, Ben Traymor. Of course, he's
another wrestler who learned from his mentor, and yours, Joe The
Giant.
EXTERMINANS:
Hey, I can't say enough good things about Ben. He worked long and
hard to get where he is, and he definitely deserves to be World
champion. The thing is, though, I know I deserve to be the
champion, too. To think otherwise, well, I shouldn't be in the
business if I though otherwise, Kermit. I've said it before, I'll
say it now, I'll keep on saying this, I will do whatever is in my
power to win that title and enjoy a long, properous reign as the
World champion. Also, I expect Ben to do anything he can to keep
the title. I know he expects my best. He demands it. And when I
get in the ring with him, I'll expect and demand nothing less
than his best.
KERMIT:
Does the thought of coming up short ever cross your mind?
EXTERMINANS:
Kermit, those things always happen. When Joe The Giant went to
New York fifteen years ago, he was unstoppable. He knocked over
big name stars when he climbed to the top. In the end, though, he
took the legdrop. That doesn't diminish his legacy or his
position as one of the best in this sport's history. Joe's run in
New York keeps me grounded, it showed me that even the legends
stumble once in a while. The difference between New York and the
PWL, though, in my mind, is honesty. Fifteen years later, I think
we can all agree that Joe was conned out of the championship in
New York so they could protect that radioactive orange goblin's
mystique. I know for a fact that the PWL gives everybody a fair
shake. The only way I could come up short in the PWL is if I'm
just not good enough. Therefore, I know I will rise to the top
once again.
KERMIT:
You had some negative words regarding The Terror a minute ago.
He's another one of Joe The Giant's former students. What it is
about him you dislike?
EXTERMINANS:
Speaking as a student of Joe The Giant, I'd prefer to keep my
strongest opinions of The Terror to myself.
MONDO:
Hey, Kermit, I'll be more than happy to give you my opinion of
The Terror. That guy, for as long as he's been around, has been
one of the laziest, most arrogant people in this business. And
when that business is pro wrestling, you know that's one bad
turkey. He made a mockery of the PWL's championships, his reign
as MWF champion drove that company out of business, and he ran
his own TWO into the ground many times over. That guy's a
disgrace to wrestling, and if Joe The Giant wasn't such a
wonderful man, he'd tell you how ashamed he is of The Terror,
too, man.
KERMIT:
With such a low opinion of The Terror, might he be a target for
Exterminans, or, indeed, The Pillars of Pain?
MONDO:
Heh, all in good time, Kermit the Frog. All in good time.
KERMIT:
Well, we're about out of time for this segment, gentlemen. Any
final thoughts?
EXTERMINANS:
I'll let my words here today speak for themselves, Kermit.
MONDO:
Exterminans, the once and future World heavyweight champion. The
Pillars of Pain, the once and future World tag champions. You can
count on that, Kermit.
KERMIT:
Mondo Mbamba, Exterminans, thank you very much.
MONDO:
And thank you for your time... Frog.
(Mondo laughs. Exterminans smiles. Kermit looks at the camera disgustedly.)
