F.T.W. Wrestling, July 23, 2005,       Lakewood, Washington
(Report by Steve Strout)
Great show, great venue, but unfortunately bad turnout for what was probably one of the loaded indy cards I've ever seen.  This show had a huge line-up , featuring the "American Dream" Dusty Rhodes and Jerry "the King" Lawler, and a few NWA-TNA stars.      The F.T.W. brought in Eric Young (from Team Canada), "Primetime" Elix Skipper, Cassidy Riley, Matt Bently (formerly known as Michael Shane), and the NWA world tag-team champions the Naturals (Chase Stevens and Andy Douglas) along with the legends Lawler and Rhodes, for two action packed events.
The all-age afternoon event kicked off with Shawn Schultz defeating "Showtime" Eric Young in a first round FTW championship tournament match.  Great match to kick off a show... the Second match saw the women going at it, with Tasha Simone making Christie Ricci tap out, but not releasing the submission hold, therefore the referee reversed the decision and awarded the victory to Ricci by disqualification...Northwest stars, Matt Farmer and Chris Del Sol, better known as the "Suicide Kings" defeated fellow northwest indy stars Havoc aka "the Reason" and  " the Ideal Reflection" Christopher Ryseck, after hitting them with the doomsday device, the move made famous by the legendary Road Warriors!...great match, one of my favorites on the shows...Next we saw a 3-way match featuring the NWA-TNA stars, Matt Bently, Elix Skipper, and Cassidy Riley. Riley and Bently worked together throughout the match , and pinned Skipper at the same time, which led the Referee to award Riley and Bently a double pin over Primetime (??Double Pin??)...Chase Stevens pinned Chris Michaels in a great match....Dusty Rhodes defeated "the Texas Hangman" Lonestar...and Andy Douglas scored a huge upset over Jerry Lawler...
The second show saw: Havoc defeat Christopher Ryseck...Christie Ricci defeat Tasha Simone...Eric Young defeat Shawn Shultz...Cassidy Riley defeated Matt Bentley...Terry Bull and Shawn Shultz defeated Eric Young and Lonestar by D.Q. , when Terry Bull turned on his partner, Shultz, and the 3 triple teamed Shultz until the Naturals ran in to make the save...Chris Michaels defeated "Primetime" Elix Skipper...In an NWA world tag-team title match , the Naturals and the Suicide Kings fought to a double countout...
The main event of the show was a dream match, which pitted the 2 legends, Jery Lawler and Dusty Rhodes against Each other. Lawler started the match by cutting his usual hilarious promos on Dusty for a few minutes, which got tons of heat. The King at his best. Once the action got going they put on a great show as expected. Lawler worked Rhodes over throughout most of the match, with the help of his valets shoe, without the ref noticing (thats why he's the "King"). Dusty got the win via pinfall, after Lawler's valet accidently threw the show to Dusty, and he laid out Lawler with his own weapon.
During the intermissions, and between shows, the wrestlers came out and mingled with the fans, and i had the opportunity to meet and talk to a few of the guys. They were all friendly and signed autographs and took pictures with everyone. Overall, these were some of the best shows I've been to, and I wish the F.T.W. the best. If they continue to bring us great shows like this, they will be around for a long time...Cant wait for the next show!!
Thats all for now, see ya at the matches!!
