be not tomorrow by John Young

Metaphor by John Young

Dreaming

I'm a dreamer. I dream all the time. I daydream. All the time. I get lost in dreams. I'm always lost in my dreams, and it's wonderful. Just to imagine something. To be someplace else and live another life. To be a hero or villian. To save the day or be saved. My dreams are the only places I can get away. Get away from life and responsibilities. Away from work. Sometimes my dreams are so vivid, I can't tell one dream from one day. Am I crazy? Or do I just have an active imagination? Can I become crazy? How do I know if I'm not dreaming right now? That this is my hand and this is school. How do I know I'm awake or even alive? I could just be a dream. I could be someone's dream.

be not tomorrow

Grand day entrench me not
Do not speak, assured, coveted
Obligation of tomorrow
Blessed dream leave me see, awaken
Now to the soil trodded day by day
Proud name of air and titles
Hold me not to four letter words
And parades of fancy
Blanketed blood, drop by drop
Drain the fill of every twitch or swagger
Heart and body
Nameless names, faceless people
Stand not amongst the trees of uniformity
Wise philosopher, question by wisdom
Become more than everything, less than something
Tranquil waters, tide of moons
Drift on; flow into the majesty of mountains
Specious autumn, leaf by leaf
Crisp, crumpled, crushed bring forth your spawns
Adam: divine nothing, bosom and apparitions
Die everyday to breathe
Rushing windes, rolling thunder, rising wave
Share not a tempest but gentle means
Enlightened eyes, iris to iris
See the grandeur of happy now...

Metaphor

Me to you, words to image
Feeling to reason
Condense the world to nothing
The nigh being of everything and nothing
Open to naive foolishness
Fool! Me to you
My words to your ears
My words to your ears
My eyes to thine iris
Meaning to me; nothing
Understanding, me to you
Open the wound
Allow the blood to be the blanket
One to the other
Living condensed to everything
Open to today, forever
Fool, love untrodded
Fear of swimming, walking the path
When only twilights dawn,
The earth is lost
Find nothing, meet no horizon
Grab no stars
Fly to fly, me to you
Relation, connection
O! I am the fool
No sense to hide love
Just the understanding
Me to you
