Wisconsin-Helena Game to be Broadcast on PWFFL Network [12.08.06] -- The PWFFL has announced it is exercising its right to broadcast this weekends contest between the Wisconsin Wannabes and the Helena Hobbits exclusively on the PWFFL Network, a fledgling channel that up to now, has only broadcast replays of classic PWFFL games and highlights of Green Bay Slackers owner Dave sleeping through the PWFFL draft. But since this announcement, cable customers in Montana and Wisconsin are wondering if theyll be able to see their teams play their final game of the season, even though neither team has much hope of making the playoffs and the game isnt even a sellout. The problem is, the PWFFL Network isnt available on Clock Clemens Cable, the cable system that serves most of the two states. Customers that have satellite service will be able to see the game, but only about 2.3% of residents have it in both states combined. Its clear that Wisconsinites are too smart to spend so much money on something that doesnt even work when it rains, a Wannabes spokesperson said.A Clock Clemens representative says the PWFFL Network wants to be on basic cable and charge what the representative referred to as an obscene amount of money for every customereven the ones that dont care about fantasy football. Whats the PWFFL Network? wondered a Great Falls woman identified only as Grandma Ethel when asked for comment about the situation. But fans outside of Helena and Oshkosh, Wisconsinthe two teams home markets where the game will be carried on local broadcast stationsare wondering if CCC will be able to make a deal with the PWFFL Network within the next couple of days to carry the game. Im not very optimistic, said one unidentified Hobbits fan. But then again, what would I watchthe Giants Defense blow another one? |
