Bouncing Bengals
Week 9 [11.11.05] --
Rocko 64, Green Bay 56
The Bengals are bouncing into the playoff hunt. Carson Palmer threw for 16 points. Cooley hauled
in 11 points as a RB. Charles Rogers did not play, but the Bengals hang on for the victory.
The Slackers took two painful zeros. Brett Favre was stymied by the Steelers defense. Lee
fumbled and likely lost his starting job. The Seattle defense was the top scorer with 13. The Slackers
still had a chance with Vinatieri kicking on Monday Night Football. Vinatieri only booted 3
points, so the Slackers fade into another loss.
Timbuktu 94, Detroit 65
Joey Porter hauled in 16, and Stephen Davis and Warrick Dunn each ran for 15 points. The
Buccaneers defense was porous against the Panthers, and put a goose-egg on the board.
Laverneus Coles snared 15 points, and Gates grabbed 14. Michael Vick "proved" he is a pocket
quarterback and tossed for 11 points.
Seattle 143, West Palm Beach 70
Tomlinson dashed for the league-high 34 points. Harrison jumped for 27 more on Monday night. The
Steelers defense tallied 17 points.
Matt Hasselbeck launched 15 points, and Portis pounded for 12 more as the Chads fell.
Wisconsin 100, Rhode Island 77
The Wannabes win, but lose Priest Holmes for the season due to concussion. Larry Johnson dove for
22, including a game-winner as time expired. LJ Smith managed only one point before leaving with
concussion.
The Ridicule got 23 from Peyton Manning and 10 from Vanderjagt on Monday night, but were unable to
overcome a huge deficit. The suspension of Terrell Owens may unravel the Ridicule's season.
Helena 99, Hellespont 66
Jonathan Wells proved to be a quality fill-in, and bowled for 15 points. Neil Rackers racked up
16 points.
The Trojans sorely missed Steven Jackson. The three starting running backs combine for 10 points.
Reggie Wayne pulled in 21 on Monday night, but it was not enough.
Kalamazoo 92, Cranville 86
The Vikings started a new era with Brad Johnson at the helm. Brad Johnson managed 12 points, and
new addition Bryant Johson caught 15. Shaun Alexander pushed through 20 points.
The Wolverines made a strong push on Monday night with Branch, Givens, and Graham combining for 33
points, but the Wolverines did not get enough production elsewhere to get the win.
