Sunday Drive
Week 8 [11.01.05] --
Detroit 90, Rocko 78
Gates led all scorers with 35 points. Rod Smith and Marcus Robinson combined for 27 more to help
keep Detroit in contention for a playoff spot.
The Bengals fell due to a lack of production from key receivers Chad Johnson and Terry Glenn, who
combined were limited to 14 points. Carson Palmer led all Bengals with 20 points.
Cranville 108, Hellespont 107
Cranville led the league in scoring in week 8. Eric Moulds snagged 21 points. Byron Leftwich had
a fine day with 14. Tatum Bell rushed for 17 critical points.
The Trojans had some excellent performances, but fell just short. Free agent pickup Marion Barber
III rushed for 20 points, followed closely by Steven Jackson with 17 and Curtis Martin with 14.
The Dallas defense rocked for 17. TJ Housh lept for 14.
Seattle 78, Green Bay 39
Steve Smith hauled in 28 points, and Tomlinson rushed for 13. The rest of the Slugs offense
underperformed, but still left with a victory.
Green Bay tallied 9 combined points by the key tandem of Favre and Driver. The Slackers fans are
already buying the Milwaukee Bucks apparel.
Rhode Island 105, West Palm Beach 88
Jake Delhomme led the Ridicule with 24 points. Terrell Owens and Tiki Barber combined for 33
points.
The Chads were led by rookie Heath Miller, who grabbed 15. The Rams defense provided 14 more
points. The after-effects of Hurricane Wilma must still be zapping the Chads offense.
Helena 94, Timbuktu 69
Kerry Collins led the Hobbits with 20 points. Philly's defense managed -2 points.
Stephen Davis rushed for 15 points for the Buccanneers. Outside of Davis and Keyshawn Johnson,
the Buccaneers offense was less than spectacular.
Wisconsin 88, Kalamazoo 83
Don't look now, but the Wannabees are on a roll. Lamont Jordan rushed for 17. Jay "Touchy" Feely
knocked through 21. The Bears defense came through with a game winning interception.
The Vikings not only suffered a defeat, but potentially two other key losses. Daunte Culpepper has
had his season ended with a major knee injury. Anquan Boldin also hurt his knee, but is expected
to return in a week or two. Boldin tallied 12 before the injury. Tony Gonzalez brought in 17.
Fred Taylor and Kevin Jones combined for 30.
