Curse of the Angino

Week 12 [11.29.05] --

Cranville 72, Hellespont 71
Just like a Vikings-Bears game, this rivalry is intense. Wolverine owner Angie has proved twice to Trojan owner Chris that she does indeed know football. Things did not look good early for Cranville as starting quarterback Byron Leftwich went down with an injury, and Tatum Bell was inactive on Thanksgiving Day. Chris Brown came to the rescue with 15 points. 11 was a common score for Wolverine players, with Chambers, Moulds and the Tennessee Defense each contributing.

The Trojans felt confident with Reggie Wayne and Dallas Clark left to play on Monday night. Needing 12 points to win, the Indy offense went heavy on the run, and the two combined for 10.

West Palm Beach 80, Green Bay 71
The sun shined in West Palm Beach for the third time this season. Rudi Johnson carried the load with 18 points. Matt Hasselbeck added 14 points in a memorable game against the Giants.

The Slackers playoff chances took a serious blow with this loss. Joe Jurevicius hauled in a mammoth 26 points, but the rest of the team was lackluster.

Rocko 122, Seattle 103
This tussle was a close second for game of the week. Two teams virtually assured of playoff berths went toe to toe, and did not disappoint. Willa's Bengals came up big. Carson Palmer had a fine day, finishing with 24. Torry Holt and Todd Heap each hauld in 22.

Seattle's new quarterback Mike McMahon struggled against the Packers, and managed only 2 points. Tomlinson rushed for a league-high 34 points. Santana Moss and Marvin Harrison grabbed 15 and 16 points respectively.

Rhode Island 111, Kalamazoo 97
Alge Crumpler crushed the heart of the Vikings on Thanksgiving, with 24 points in Mariucci's final game in Detroit. Vanderjagt kicked in 16 on Monday night to seal the victory.

The Vikings offense is going well, but not well enough for this game. Brad Johnson tossed for 20. Andre Johnson and Anquan Boldin combined for 40 points.

Wisconsin 142, Helena 102
The Wannabees are making a had charge for the playoffs. Brooks threw for 21. Dante Hall snared 17. Lamont Jordan bowled forward for 25. Amani "Nice Suit" Toomer hauled in 15. The Atlanta Defense supplied 17.

The Hobbits could not stretch enough for the victory. Jeremy Shockey pulled in 24. Isaac Bruce appeared to be back in old form, and grabbed 14. Mike Anderson managed only one point as Ron Dayne stepped in late in the game.

Detroit 79, Timbuktu 71
Rod Smith hauled in 13 on Thanksgiving, and got the Drive headed in the right direction. The Drive appeared to have a flat tire, as Gates and McGahee combined for 6 points. The Indianapolis Defense brought home the bacon and the win with 11 points on Monday night.

Keyshawn Johnson snagged 14 points on Thanksgiving. Eli Manning tossed for 18. Stephen Davis was limited to one point. The Buccaneer playoff chances appear to be sailing off.

Coach of the Week: W. Palm Beach Chads
Player of the Week: LaDanian Tomlinson (RB-Sea)
