Wild Week

Week 18: The Sol Series Playoffs started this week with the first four teams battling out to move onto the semi-finals. After edging out numberous teams still hunting for a spot in the last week of the season. Rocko gets a rematch against the team that stole their Division Title from them at the last minute, Providence. The biggest rivalry in all of PWFSI gets turned up a notch when the 4th and 5th seeds, Seattle Skunks and the Michigan Twinkies face off. These two teams were only seperated by a very small fantasy point margin at the end of the season.

Before we get to the big games, some notable games from the teams just on the edge of making the playoffs. Miami, who was just one game and about 40 points from the 6th spot launched an impressive week of 337 points. Dre along with a few others are putting his players through the paces so they don't hit the wall at the end of next season. Hummels Wharf and Chicago both were warming up their teams for next weeks games with mixed results. The Braves managed 236 points in their scrimmage with his new best friend, Atlanta, who put up 210 points. Chicago in their exhibition game with Guam lost 176-195.

Michigan 257, Seattle 138
This game was all about who didn't play for both teams. Feeling that some of his pitchers had hit the wall earlier in the season, Jabin benched many of his marginal pitchers earlier in the week to great results. The day off helped the Skunk pitchers work out their kinks in the bullpin instead of costing the Seattle franchise even more points. Michigan also benched notable names such as the hot Leiter and Wolf, who were being benched so that their arms could be saved for later in the playoffs.

The strategy worked well, but the Twinkies had the hotter bats as hot pitching came from both sides of the field. Peavy and Schilling tacked on some major points for Michigan, as did Pedro for the Skunks. Helton and Lopez were the hero's belting a combined 5 homeruns.

The Twinkies will take their other division mate in the playoffs in the semi-finals. Hummels Wharf Braves.

Providence 227, Rocko 189
Another close game between these to teams. The lead was changing back and forth each day and it didn't look like either team could pull away. Eventually though, it was the Plague with their 40 point Sunday off the arms of Marquis and O. Perez (Pit) that sealed the victory for this hot franchise who has won 7 of their last 8 games.

Next week in the Semi-finals, The Providence Plague will take on the rested rookie Chicago Cubsbartmen.
