A Force To Be Reckoned With Week 5: There was a time, not too long ago, that league owners got along in a peaceful but competitive manner. Enter the Colonel, owner of the expansion Atlanta Force. His single influence has turned the most peaceful, into the most vengeful. This is the backdrop for one of the biggest weeks of this early season. Atlanta Force vs. Hummels Wharf Braves. The rivalry was built over some unflattering comments made by the "Colonel" last fall, which Mr. Pinter did not take lightly. When the Colonel applied and was granted a team in this PWFSI sanctioned league, this week was circled down as the time for both of these owners to put up, or shut up, regarding their dispute. The week started out close, a 35-19 lead for the Braves and it pretty much stayed really close for the rest of the week. The lead changed hands day after day, each taking turns having slightly better days than the other. One move can't necessarily be pointed out for the eventual loss that the Braves will have to endure for the coming months. It was a well-played game on both sides that came down to the last batter. The final score was 225-217. The Colonel waited close to 24 hours after the news struck, that the Force would come out the victors in their close match, to hold a press conference gloating the win. "You can have all the offensive firepower in the world, but pitching wins championships. I've suggested to Sideshow (Mr. Pinter) to go out and get some because Rich Harden as his #2 pitcher wont get it done. The Braves headquarters was obviously devastated by the news of the loss to their heated rival, Atlanta. No direct word has been able to be reached from Madison (Hummels Wharf Corporate Office), but those close with the Pinters have said he is very disappointed with the close loss, but he feels that his players put in a strong effort to try and secure a victory. Hummels Wharf has a tough match to try to regroup in week 6 as the Braves will face off against division foe Michigan. Atlanta, looks to extend their three game winning streak against the Seattle Skunks.
Wisconsin 312, Michigan 215
This looks to be just the spark that the Wannabes needed to get their season going. They look to have a big test ahead of them, as Wisconsin faces their archrival Providence in week 6. The Wannabes have not been having good luck against teams from the smallest state in the Union. Michigan looks to close in on the lead in Mars by taking on a Braves team that hasn't been able to defeat anyone but Dundee this season.
Seattle 204, Dundee 99
The fans of Dundee will finally be able to see another team other than their division foes in week 6, when the Hillbillies face off with league leading Chicago. Seattle will try to stop the win streak of the ever-colorful Colonel when the Skunks and the Force battle it out.
Chicago 274, Guam 230
This was the last game for pitcher Ben Sheets in a Chicago uniform as the Cubsbartmen traded the pitcher to Atlanta early Sunday morning for pitcher Dotel. Sheets was allowed to hang out in the dugout during Sunday's game to say goodbye to all his former teammates before being shipped to their division rival. Sheets was given a standing ovation for his 92 fantasy points he helped earn for Chicago, although many fans claim that it was a bad move for Sheets who now has to play in the hitter-friendly ballpark in Atlanta. Week 6 looks to be a tough week for one of these two teams. Guam will take on fellow expansion team, Cranville. Meanwhile, Chicago will likely beat up and down the poor Dundee Hillbillies.
Providence 276, Miami 161
