Preview: Opening Week 2004 Hello Baseball Fans!! Its here...finally. Opening week in MLB and opening week in the PWFBL. Looks to be an interesting start to the year for PWFBLers. All matchups this week are divisional, and remember folks..its those division records that will make or break you. In the Mars division - a little rivalry revives itself between Hummels Wharf and Michigan. The Twinkies are the defending PWFBL champs and the Braves started the season strong last year going undefeated for several weeks. Owner Bob hopes things start just as well this year. The Twinkies look to continue their winning ways resting on the bat of MVP Pujols. Also in Mars - The Seattle Skunks hope to drive the New Dundee Hillbillies outta town with the odor....but as hillbillies tend to not bathe..should be a battle of the stinkers =) In the new division Pluto - we have a couple first time matchups. The Atlanta Force look to start the season strong by whooping on the Funky Monkies of Guam. Once upon a time in fantasy baseball, Jock won his division...so the Funky Monkies know a little about baseball. The Chicago Cubsbartman look to start the year strong by taking out Dre's Miami Hustlers. Should make for a good week. Over in the Venus division, newcomer Ang and her Cranville Euchres face a very tough owner in Youthful Willa and her Rocko Leopards. Ang is new to fantasy baseball but her players have assured her that they will give their best effort each day to help her succeed. In the last game of the week, definitely the game of the week in at least some eyes - Wisconsin faces their Arch Nemisis in the fantasy sports world, Libby and her Providence Plague. Wisconsin hopes to get back to winning ways by starting the year solidly even after the decimation of the best pitching rotation available last year. Owner Libby laughs evilly when asked about the matchup - oh..I'm not worried. Sue finds a way to choke or just tie me. For some reason....she just can't bring the A game when we play each other. Looks to be a solid start for the Plague this year.
Looks to be a great week of Baseball. Reminder that stats should be up and posted by 9am CST each day. Tune in Monday for the week 1 wrapup and week 2 preview.
