Division Leaders Collide What a week in the PWFBL. Providence got back in the win column as the Plague handily disposed of the floundering Hummels Wharf Braves. Providence put up the high score for the week thanks to many solid pitching performances, including the game HW Owner Bob attended with Hideo Nomo getting the complete game shutout. I guess Plague Owner/GM Libby didn't yet feel like handing out that antidote yet. Seattle inked win #2 this week over the Rocko Leopards. Thanks to solid performances by throughout the week, the Skunks got a bit of luck and outscored roller coaster Rocko. In the game of the week - the two streaking powerhouse teams met up again in Week 8. In week 1, the Wannabes of Wisconsin just squeaked by the Michigan Twinkies, winning only by 2 points. Week 8 was a battle all week. Even though 4 separate pitching performaces went up in smoke for the Wannabes, Greg Maddux rebounded and Kevin Brown had 2 amazing starts to power the Wannabes by the Twinkies during a Sunday rally. The Twinkies, who've been on a tear since playing the Wannabes, had a big week but Bret Boone just didn't have enough gas left in the tank Sunday night to give the extra 9 points for the victory. The Twinkies remain atop the Mars division and the undefeated Wannabes remain perched atop the Venus division. Looking ahead- Seattle and Providence face off to see who can start a winning streak. Michigan faces a tough Rocko team.
Hummels Wharf gets a chance to get back in the Win column against the Wisconsin Wannabes.
