Wisconsin's Win Not "Trivial"

Week 2: By the time Wisconsin Wannabees Owner Sue was ready to leave her team for Stevens Point this weekend, a win over the Providence Plague was well in hand for Week 2.

While Sammy Sosa and Ugueth Urbina were getting the job done for the 'Bees, Providence players were either sitting in the rain or watching their pitching ace, Randy Johnson, get tagged for ten runs in five innings while only notch four strikeouts. By the end of the day, the Plague's 52-point performance the day before was all but erased, putting Providence at just five points and change heading into the weekend. With that, Sue spent the weekend taking part in the "World's Largest Trivia Contest" and watching Alex Rodriguez go 3-for-5 and John Smoltz and Tim Wakefield pick up saves on Sunday via satellite en route to a 224-35 blowout of the Plague.

Plague owner Libzie may be starting to show signs of panic in the early goings of the season. Libzie has made four roster moves in the last two days, looking for ways to shake up her lineup.

Elsewhere in the PWFBL, Rocko finally got its first win of the year thanks to the big bats of Damon and Palmiero while Seattle dropped its second game in a row. In the Game of the Week, the Hummels Wharf Braves continued their winning ways as Jeff Bagwell and Raul Ibanez piled on the homers for another 300-point week. Four pitchers got wins for the Braves as the Michigan Twinkies fell victim.

This week's game of the week looks to be Michigan vs. Seattle as the two teams are likely to begin talking trash as early as Monday.
